Week 14 Preview
With all four of the World Fantasy Football League playoff spots practically wrapped up this week, most teams have little left to play for in the final week of the 2007 regular season. However, these two old rivals, the Washington Federals and the Dublin Heroes, still have a thing or two at stake in this clash of capital cities: pride, Toilet Bowl bracket seeding, and the slimmest of hopes that one of these teams might still make the playoffs. But mostly, pride. "O, how the mighty have fallen!" might be the chorus among Feds fans this week, as Washington fell out of playoff contention for the first time in recent memory. The closest thing this league has to a dynasty, the Feds were on thier way this year to winning their 2nd championship in a row, and the third in 4 years, until those pesky Hornets wreckeed their playoff dreams with an upset win and allowed the Baltimore Bombers to fly right into the playoffs. However, if Baltimore loses this week (to those same Hornets) and if Washington win this week by more than 101 points more than the Bombers score, then the Feds will once again be the Awesome division champs. Slim chance, but nuttier things have happened in this league. "Wait til next year..." is a common refrain among the Dublin faithful, and for the WFFL playoffs, that just what they'll have to do. After once again starting off hot and dominating the Awesome division early...once again the Heroes fans watched in familiar horror as their team stumbled down the strech, right out of the playoff race. However, the Heroes can still finish the season with a .500 record and a good seed in the WFFL Toilet Bowl Bracket, putting them in good position to claim a record third Toilet Bowl title. The Washington Federals make a state visit to Dublin this week to face off against the the Heroes. in this season's final Game Of The Week! |

Playoff Projections: Week 14 Awesome Division Baltimore Bombers: can clinch the division with a win OR a Washington loss. (Projected seed: #3) Washington Federals: can clinch the division with a win AND a Baltimore loss AND a weekly fantasy point total of at least 101 points more than Baltimore's week 14 total. Dublin Heroes / Charlotte Hornets: have been eliminated from playoff contention. Gnarly Division Los Angeles LostBoys: have virtually* clinched the division. (Projected seed: #2) Missouri Mad Mules: virtually* eliminated from playoff contention. St. Louis Kings / San Francisco Scoobies: have been eliminated from playoff contention. Radical Division Canada Courier du Bois: have clinched the division and the #1 seed in the playoffs. Houston Mudbugs: have clinched the Wild Card and #4 seed in the playoffs. Memphis Pharaohs / Da Bronx Goombas: have been eliminated from playoff contention. * - If Missouri wins and Los Angeles loses, the W-L record will be tied, as will the head-to-head record of both teams (1-1). However, L.A. holds a 378 point lead in fantasy points, presumably insurmountable with one week of regular-season play remaining. |

Week 13 Preview
The fact that the Baltimore Bombers are in first place at this late point in the season is a testament to the great season they've had so far. In third just a week ago, the Bombers rose to first in with one crucial victory. But with the Washington federals just a tiebreaker behind, and the Heroes only one game back, the Bombers can ill-afford to trip up at this late hour. Baltimore will have to go full-throttle the rest of the way to make it to the big dance. The Dublin Heroes have been on a roller-coaster ride this season, with ups and downs coming fast and seemingly without warning. However, with games against the Bombers and Feds in the next two weeks, the Irish club still controls it's own destiny. Win two games, and they are likely to be the division champs. Lose one, and they can start making Toilet Bowl plans again thi year. Two teams on a playoff drought will clash for a scarce postseason berth this week in Bmore, the winner stays alive and in the hunt; the loser will quickly become a lost cause. The Irish invade the Chesapeake in this week's Game Of The Week. |

Week 12 Preview
Both the Canada Courier du Bois and the Missouri Mad Mules have had surprising seasons in their own way. For Missouri, climbing out of the gutter of the Gnarly division to become a real contender in the playoff race has surpassed all preseason expectations. For Canada, dominating the league on their way to one of the best seasons in WFFL history has the CCDB making plans for another trip to the World Bowl. With their only two losses coming against the Houston Mudbugs, Canada has thus far rolled over the rest of its competition with it's potent scoring combination of Tom Brady and Randy Moss. A Canada win this week should guarantee a playoff spot and put Canada on the inside track to claiming the Radical divison title and a top seed in the playoffs. The Mad Mules have been a strong, if unexpected, force to be reckoned with in the WFFL this season. Although they faltered after getting off to a hot start, the Mules have gotten back on the beaten path with a last-minute win at Memphis last week. Missouri needs a win this week to keep pace with the L.A. LostBoys, and keep the suddenly hot Kings at bay. The Couier du Bois set out to explore Missouri this week, in search of yet another victory to add to its collection; while the Mad Mules circle the wagons to fend off the Canadian attack and stay in the tight Gnarly division race; in this week's Game Of The Week. |

Week 11 Preview
It goes without saying: the 2007 season has not been kind to the Charlotte Hornets or Da Bronx Goombas. Both teams started the year with issues in the draft, and both teams have struggled to field a team that can consistently win games. Both teams come into this week’s showdown in need of a win…and at this point, any win will do. The Charlotte Hornets entered this season as the World Fantasy Football League’s newest team. And, like other teams in their first year, Charlotte has dealt with their share of first season hurdles. However, the despite their unimposing record; the Hornets are still mathematically alive in the playoff races and have been a terror for Gnarly division teams, with all three Charlotte wins coming against Gnarly opponents. To stay in the hunt for an outside chance at a playoff berth, the Hornets must win out, and that has to start in the Bronx. Da Bronx Goombas’ season was hamstrung from the get-go, after the nearly-infamous “Draft Day Massacre”…a mishap that left the Goombas roster with some serious holes. However, the Goombas have proven over the year to be nothing if not resilient, and teams would be wise not to consider a trip to the Bronx as a bye week. With Peyton Manning at the helm of the offense, the Goombas have the ability to score points in bunches, and some of those bunches would come in handy this week to save the Bronx from a 1-10 start. A game that, on the surface, seems like little more than a battle for next year’s top draft pick still means much more to the two teams involved this week. The Charlotte Hornets fly into New York City with dim (but real) hopes of making a playoff miracle happen, and the Goombas still have their pride and the chance to improve their seed in the Toilet Bowl bracket. The league’s newest team travels up the East Coast to challenge one of the league’s charter franchises in this week’s Game Of The Week.

Week 10 Preview
In a stunning reversal of fortunes last week, big wins for the Washington Federals and the Baltimore Bombers helped them to topple the Dublin Heroes, who had held the Awesome division lead for several weeks. The Bombers claimed the top spot in the division, while the Feds snagged the Wild Card lead, dumping the Heroes from first to third in the division in one fell swoop. All of which sets up a huge match between these bitter rivals located just a short drive from one another...a contest for supremacy in the Awesome. The Washington Federals, defending World Bowl V champions, have become the closest thing to a dynasty that the World Fantasy Football League can boast. With two championships won in three years, the Feds built huge expectations going into this season. And, after suffering through a miserable 1-3 start, Washington caught fire to reel off a five game win streak. Now the defending champs are once again in post-season form going into the home strech of the 2007 campaign, but first they must avenge their Week 2 loss to these same Bombers. The Baltimore Bombers have regularly been a good team in the regular season, however they have been consistently denied a chance for post-season play. Baltimore also started the season 1-3, with the only bright spot a Week 2 win over the Federals, before going on an equally impressive 5 game win streak. Now the Bombers sit atop the division, and can control their own playoff destiny if they continue to win. A win for either team would place them all alone at the top of the Awesome division standings for at least one week, and give them the inside track to a playoff berth. A loss would place them in the middle of the pack, behind in the Wild Card, and even in danger of being overtaken by Dublin. With only one third of the season remaining, the playoff races are heating up, and none are hotter than the battle atop the Awesome division in this week's Game Of The Week! |

Week 9 Preview
While the ghosts, goblins, and Dora the Explorer will go door to door in their quest to promote tooth decay this Halloween, the teams of the WFFL will be haunted by thoughts of the wekend, when they will try to scare up a win in the frighteningly close playoffs races. Two such teams will be out for blood this week, as the Baltimore Bombers visit the Missouri Mad Mules. The Baltimore Bombers are among the spookiest teams in the league right now, riding a 4-game win streak into this week like the headless horseman's unholy steed. Baltimore has climbed into a virtual tie for the Awesome division lead, knocking on the door of Dublin looking, not for candy, but for a place in the afterlife that is the playoffs. But to continue their reign of terror, the Bombers have to vanquish the equally blood-curdling Mad Mules of Missouri. The Mad Mules have had a season so far that lives up to their mind-altering name. After feasting on the carcasses of their first two opponents, the Mules have hung between the worlds of the living and the dead, with wins and losses coming with equal regularity. But, after rising up to claim the soul of the Hornets last week, the Mad Mules are alone atop the boneyard of the Gnarly division. To stay there, they will have to exorcise the demons that will arrive from Baltimore. Two teams at 5-3 will clash this week in Missouri...a deathmatch...a struggle for survival in the cutthroat race to the playoffs. A win could mean claiming first place in their respective division, and coming one step closer to sucking the life out of their division rivals. But a loss could be the death of either teams chances at the playoffs, dooming them to suffer the torment of the Toilet Bowl bracket once again. The Baltimore Bombers try to trick the Missouri Mad Mules and treat themselves to a win, in this week's Game Of The Week. |

Week 8 Preview
As the midway point of the WFFL season passes, the Canada Courier du Bois and t he St. Louis Kings are two teams that appear to be going in very different directions. The Courier du Bois, who currently hold the league's best record, visit the Kings, a team have struggling mightily for scarce wins this season, in a true David vs. Goliath match. The Canadian team is, to put it mildly, of fire this season. Only a one point loss to the Houston Mudbugs mars an otherwise perfect record, and Canada continues to put up startling fantasy numbers each week. Despite the tough schedule still ahead, The Couier du Bois look like a lock for the playoffs and perhaps may be uncatchable in the Radical division. Not so long ago, the Kings ruled over the the Gnarly division, with two straight divisional championships in 2005 and 2006. However this year with the emergence of the rest of the division as contenders for the throne, the Kings have been relegated to the bottom of the standings. However, the other three teams in the division is tied for the lead only 2 games ahead of St. Louis, and with these teams having to play each other, the Kings have a perfect opportunity to get back into the race. With the run to the playsoffs working up to full steam, the Canada Couirer du Bois roll into St. Louis to face the hometown Kings in a game with huge implications for both teams. Will Canada continue it's dominance and maintain it's lead in the Radical division, or the Kings strike the first blow of a comeback to win their third straight Gnarly division crown? The Canadian giant visits St. Louis in this week's Game Of The Week.

Week 6 Preview
With the half-way point of the season looming, the division races are heating up in the World Fantasy Football League. This week, two contenders in the playoff race, the San Francisco Scoobies and the Dublin Heroes, face off in the Game Of The Week. The Scoobies have are no strangers to playoff races, and with a number of playoff appearances including a Wild Card berth in 2005. But after a lackluster 2006 season, the Scoobs once again have their sights set on the postseason. With a decent 3-2 showing do far this season, the Scoobies are still within striking distance of the Mules and LostBoys atop the Gnarly division standings. The Dublin Heroes have long been a team known for starting the season strong, with high scores and big wins. But they are also a team known for not being able to close the deal late in the season. Despite their success in the regular season, the Dublin Heroes have never made the playoffs, although they have won the Toilet Bowl twice. Still holding on atop the Awesome division despite last week's loss, the Heroes are in excellent position to make a run at the big dance. For San Francisco, a win this week would be instrumental to keeping pace with the leaders in the Gnarly division and possibly pulling into a tie for the lead if the leaders stumble. Dublin's healthy lead narrowed last weeek, but a win would assure them another week atop the standings, and get them one step closer to representing the Awesome division in the playoffs. The San Francisco Scoobies visit the the Dublin Heroes in this week's Game Of The Week.

Week 5 Preview
As the Thanksgiving holiday nears in the great nation of the North, the people of Canada often stop to reflect on the things that bring them together this time of year: friends, family, and hating the Memphis Colonels. Although the Colonels have moved halfway around the world to become the Memphis Pharaohs, the World Fantasy Football League's oldest rivalry is alive and well, and will be renewed once again this week in New Brunswick. The Memphis Pharaohs WFFL legacy is one of both success and mediocrity: two championships and several playoff appearances, tempered by back to back 7-7 seasons the past two years. Once again this year, the Memphis team is off to a strong start, after stumbling in week 1 against a tough Mudbugs squad, they have ripped off a three-game win streak. Now in a virtual tie for the Radical division lead, Memphis faces their old nemesis with playoff implications..a challenge they relish. The Canada Courier du Bois are one of the oldest and most storied franchises in the league; with one of the highest all-time winning percentages, several playoff appearances, and an excellent showing in World Bowl V in a losing effort. Now, once again, the Canadian team stands poised for another playoff run, perhaps even all the way to that ellusive first WFFL title. And what better way to get there then to crush the Pharaoh fans' dreams along the way? The oldest rivarly in the WFFL renews this week with huge implications for both teams. A win will vault them to sole possession of first place in the division; a loss will drop them back into the pack to fight their way back out again. The Memphis invades Canada looking for a fight in this week's Game Of The Week. |

Week 4 Preview
The only matchup between two teams above .500 in the World Fantasy Footbal League this week will take place on the dung-enriched sod of Burrow Stadium in St. Louis, as the Dublin Heroes travel west across the Atlantic to face the undefeated Missouri Mad Mules. Both teams hold the top spot in their respective divisions, and for both teams a tough matchup like this one couldn't have come at a worse time. The Dublin Heroes started the 2007 season in strong fashion, quickly ringing up two hugely important divison wins. Then last week, the Heroes ran into a buzzsaw as the Memphis Pharaohs dismantled the Irish team at home at Croke Park. Still, the Heroes are in the catbird seat in the always competitive Awesome Division, and can stay in that top spot with a win this week in Missouri. The Mad Mules have been this season's most pleasant surprise, off to their best start ever and gong into week 4 as the league's only remaining undefeated team. However, the high-scoring success of the first two weeks came back to earth last week, with the Mules only able to muster 88 points to squeak out a win over a faltering Goombas squad. A win this week would assure Missouri at least one more week atop the Gnarly division standings. Two strong division leaders will square off this week, the pride of Ireland comes to the "Show-Me State" to decide not only their divisions, but to determine the front-runner in the league early in the season. The Missouri Mad Mules host the Dublin Heroes in this week's Game Of The Week. |

World Bowl VI Logo Unveiled
Ineeda Scoop - World Fantasy Football News September 25, 2007 WFFL League Offices - At a press conference today, the media got their first look at the new logo for World Bowl VI, this year's championship game for the WFFL title. During the presentation, the WFFL commisioner hinted that the new globe theme central to the logo might be seen again in the future on other WFFL logos. He would not comment further when asked. The World Bowl is the championship game of the World Fantasy Football League, played each year at the home stadium of the previous year's champion. Four teams make the playoffs each year, the three division winners and a wild card team; and the two teams surviving the first round of the playoffs face off in the annual World Bowl. This year's World Bowl IV will be played at National Colliseum in Washington, D.C., the home of the two-time champion Washington Federals. |

Week 3 Preview
MUDDY WATERS
Three undefeated team remain in the World Fantasy Football League, and none of those teams will face off this week. However, there are a couple of intriguing matchups between 2-0 and 1-1 teams slated for week 3, and one of the most interesting has the Radical Division leading Houston Mudbugs visiting the San Francisco Scoobies. The Mudbugs have been impressive in the first two games of the season, besting what could be their best competition for the Radical Division crown in Canada and Memphis. Although both games were close, the Canada game by only one point, Houston has shown that they know how to gut out a win in the tough games. Going 3-0 with an undefeated division record and a veritable mountain of fantasy points would make the Mudbugs a playoff favorite. But with the Pharaohs and Courier du Bois only one game behind, a Houston loss by the Bay could squander their early season success. The Scoobies have been contenders in the tough Gnarly Division for years, but with teams like the LostBoys and Mad Mules coming on strong this season, the Scoobs may have their work cut out for them. In Week 1, the San Fran squad were crushed by L.A. but bounced back against the defending division champs the following week. Now they must maintain their momentum int oweek 3 against Houston, where a win would keep them in contention in the Gnarly race. Lose this game, however, and the Scoobs will be looking up at the better half of the division. Both the Scoobies and the Mudbugs have built this year's team around top-notch running backs. And both Larry Johnson of Houston and San Fransicso's Steven Jackson have gotten off to a slow start this season. But if these talented rushers get going, look for a high-scoring shootout in the city by the Bay. The defending Wild Card champion Houston Mudbugs travel west to challenge the San Francisco Scoobies in the week's Game Of The Week! |

Week 2 Preview
Gnarly Showdown
In week 1, both the LostBoys and the Mad Mules posted impressive scores in their victories over division opponents. Now, the league's two highest scoring teams face off in an early season showdown for control of the Gnarly Division. For the 2002 WFFL champion LostBoys, this season's great start is rekindling hopes of a return to glory for the L.A. franchise. The Mules, on the other hand, are beginning to believe that this will be the season that they move out of the Toilet Bowl bracket and into serious playoff contention. The Los Angeles LostBoys, once one of the most feared clubs in the league, were among the WFFL elite in the early years, and dominated the competition in their 2002 championship run. But lately the once and former champs have fallen on hard times, and fallen behind more recently successful teams in thier division like the Scoobies and Kings. However, with their mind-numbing 160 points over the their in-state rivals last week, the 'Boys may well be on their way to leaving the gutter of the Gnarly division and vaulting once again to championship form. The Mad Mules were part of the 2005 expansion class as the Nebraska Scarecrows, going 3-11 in their first campaign. A move to Missouri and a name change improved the team's fortunes somewhat, and in 2006 they turned in a more respectable 5-9 record and an appearance in the Toilet Bowl 5. But with the Mules out of the barn to a 1-0 start this young season, torching the defending division champs for 134 points, this team is no longer striving for their first ever winning record. This Missouri club is saddling up for a gallop to the playoffs. This week 2 matchup is a pivotal game for both teams, each of whom are hoping to capitalize on last week's success. A win would place them firmly in control of the Gnarly division lead going into two weeks of out-of-conference play. A loss would push them back into the pack at .500 having to play catchup with one division loss working against them. The LostBoys battle the Mad Mules on the extremely healthy, dung fertilized, natural grass of Burrow Stadium in this week's Game Of The Week! |

Week 1 Preview Champs Host the Newbies
In designing the WFFL's new schedule, opening the season with divisional games for the first time ever, the schedule-making gods proved with this matchup to have either a flair for the dramatic, or a cruel sense of humor. This week, the league's newest team, the Charlotte Hornets, will face a baptism by fire when they visit the defending champs, The Washington Federals. The Hornets are an unknown quantity to be sure, like any new franchise. They come into the league replacing last year's new franchise, the Oklahoma Annihilators, who folded suddenly due to a financial collapse after their attempt to move the team to Hawaii. Now the Awesome Division is solidified in the Atlantic region with teams along the east coast of the US and across the pond in Ireland. The Hormets hope to open WFFL play with a splash, and beating the defending champs and one of the most sucessful teams in league history would certainly fill the bill. The Federals are a team on their way to becoming the WFFL's first true dynasty, winning the championship last year and another in 2004. Coming into this season arguably as the favorites, the Feds would solidify their legendary status with another championship this year. Washington looks to get the 2007 campaign off to a good start by facing the league's newbies at home in a game in which they have to be considered the favorites. Will the Champs roll to victory on the way to WFFL glory, or will the Hornets pull the upset of the decade and beat the Feds on their own turf? One way or the other, history will be made in this week's Game Of The Week! |

WORLD FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE PRESS RELEASE
June 19, 2007 - For Immediate Release... The League Office of the WFFL today announced the official regular season schedule for 2007. As usual, the schedule consists of 14 weeks, with each team playing their divisional rivals twice (home and away) and every team outside their division once. Also each team will still have 7 home games and seven road contests. New to the schedule this year is the arrangement of division games near the beginning and end of the season. Weeks 1 and 2 will feature all divisional games to start the season, followed by interdivisional games in weeks 3 and 4. Week 5 will be another week of divisional games, followed by a 4 game mid-season stretch of interdivisional matchups, until the next divisional games in week 10. After two more weeks against out-of-division foes in weeks 11 and 12, the season will end strong with two weeks of divisional rivalries. "This is not a huge departure from our normal schedule format," explained league commissioner Nolan Buchanan, "But having two weeks of divisional games at the beginning of the season kick the season off with some intense rivalries and will allow the divisions to sort themselves out somewhat before we head into interdivisional play." He continued," The two divisional games at the end of the season are always a huge attraction and build alot of drama in what are usually some very close divison races. Historically speaking, it's really about winning your division in this league if you want to win a championship." The seventh season of the WFFL will kick off on September 9th of this year. The entire 2007 schedule can be viewed at the league's website: |

When asked what qualifications Cowell as to be a head coach of a football team Mr. Perks reply was “none but anything is better than what we had leading the team last year.” Cowell took the podium to a round of boos and telling them to shut up he was asked if he reviewed the game films from the previous seasons and what his thoughts were. He replied:”yes I did and they were simply hideous, they played worse than a bunch of grandmas playing touch football.” Cowell named Randy Jackson as an assistant coach. Jackson’s response was “that is hot!” |

Charlotte, N.C. Buzzing With Excitement Over The Newest WFFL Team Ivana Storrie Sports Reporter, Charlotte Observer Charlotte, N.C. - The World Fantasy Football League held a news conference today at the construction site of the new football stadium in Charlotte to annouce the entry of the newest franchise into the league, the hometown Charlotte Hornets. League commissioner Nolan Buchanan and Hornets owner Shawn Gilbreath were on hand to announce the birth of the new team and to show off the team's helmet: a yellow dome with black and white stripes, sporting a rather angry-looking hornet on each side. "We at the WFFL are very excited to welcome the Hornets to the league," said Buchanan. "Charlotte has a great history in pro sports and we believe Mr. Gilbreath has put together a top-notch management team for the new franchise." "We think that the city of Charlotte and the WFFL is a perfect match," Gilbreath said, "This city is great football town, and with most of our division rivals also along the East Coast, we will have some instant rivalries in our division." The Charlotte Hornets will play in the Awesome Division, along with the Dublin Heroes, Washington (D.C.) Federals, and the Baltimore Bombers. |

Memphis Colonels Move To Memphis...Egypt
In move that shocked the league and many of it's fans, the Memphis Colonels announced today that the team would be moving to Memphis, Egypt for the 2007 season, and that the team would be renamed the Memphis Pharaohs. The team could not play in it's home stadium in Memphis, Tennessee due to a toxic waste clean-up, so the team was forced to move for at least one season. "We had alot of very interesting proposals to relocate to several cities around the world," said team owner Nolan Buchanan at a press conference in Cairo today. "But in the end, the bid submitted by the nation of Egypt had the most to offer our team and the league. For years, the WFFL has wanted to locate more teams outside of North America, and one of the oldest nations in the world is a good place to start. It's time we put the 'World' in 'World Fantasy Football League' ". The team will play in the Great Pyramid just down the Nile River in Giza, also known as Khufu's Pyramid, or as Buchanan likes to call it, the "Tomb of Doom". The team will be known as the Memphis Pharaohs, named after the once great rulers of this ancient land. The team's offices and practice facility will be in the ancient city of Memphis, once the capitol of the mighty Egyptian Empire. The teams new helmets were on display at the press conference, a gold dome sporting the bust of a pharaoh on either side. Team spokepersons also said that the uniforms would be brown, black, and gold. More details were promised as they became available.
