(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 24, 2007) In a week 16 GLFFL Champions League showdown, *Murat squeaked by a tough *Smackdown team by a score of 112.45 to 105.55, extending the winning streak for *Murat to 7 games.

*Murat were led to their 6.90 point victory by a 29.10 point effort from Brandon Jacobs, who beat the Buffalo Bills defense for 145 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in addition to 6 receiving yards. With this performance, Jacobs was the number 2 ranked running back for week 16. They also got help from a 27.15 point effort from Ben Roethlisberger, who got by the St. Louis Rams defense for 261 passing yards and 3 passing TDs in addition to 11 rushing yards.

"We're glad to get out of here with the 'W'," *Murat coach Tom Stock said.

*Smackdown were helped out in a losing cause by a 20.70 point effort from Steve Smith, who beat the Dallas Cowboys defense for 137 receiving yards and 1 receiving TD. With this performance, Smith was the number 5 ranked wide receiver for week 16. They also got help from a 20.15 point effort from Tony Romo, who got by the Carolina Panthers defense for 257 passing yards and 1 passing TD in addition to 13 rushing yards.

"We came out flat," *Smackdown coach Brian Steinberg said.

Causing further embarrassment, *Smackdown could have scored 139.85 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Brian Steinberg left key players like Najeh Davenport and his corresponding 30.70 points on the bench.

*Smackdown drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 18 out of 22 other potential opponents in week 16.

This brings the record for *Murat to 12-2, and drops *Smackdown to a record of 9-7.
