| <flash bulbs - reporters murmuring> Thank you all for coming today. The Freaktown franchise is a proud tradition of fantasy football. Last year's improbable run to the Extreme Fantasy Football League Championship Game (EFFLCG) was what we thought was a stepping stone to a championship in 2007. Unlike some franchises that were beset by injuries this year's team simply did not perform on the computer screen. Zero games of 30+ points in a league dominated by offense is simply unacceptable. Even with the offensive struggles this team endured it is still tied for most Coulda Won with 6. A questionable draft left many questions that were unable to be answered at the trading deadline and therefore a season of promise now leaves many questions for next year. With all this being said it is with mutual agreement that the GM and Coach of the Freaktown Oilers have been relieved of duties. No immediate successor(s) have been named. We have contacted Bill Parcels' people but he refuses to accept both positions without a marquee QB going forward. Attempts to reach Bill Walsh have received no response. When asked about the possibility of hiring Dennis Green for the position our response was "Is that really an improvement?" With our last victory coming in week six against a Royalty squad riddled with injuries and players on BYE week the team is in search of itself. Two games remain: At Cincinnati (3-8) and the year finale at home against the Mooseknuckles (4-7). We are going to take a look at some younger talent in evaluation for next season and prove to our fans that we can compete in this league for years to come. Thank you. |
