While the season is still fresh in everyone's memory, I would like to gather up all of your ideas and suggestions for tweaking the FLFFL next year. We won't be taking any action on any of this until next July. This is just a place to document your ideas and suggestions so they aren't forgotten between now and then. PLEASE REMEMBER: This is a brainstorming activity, and the Golden Rule of brainstorming is DEFER JUDGEMENT. All ideas are welcome. Do not debate or belittle any idea raised in this thread. I'm looking for quantity, not quality here. Happy Holidays!!! John

I'll get things started with two ideas of my own: 1) Consider changing the draft order from "stardard serpentine" to "3rd round reversed". This order is identical to a standard serpentine, except that the 3rd round is reversed. The first 5 rounds of the draft would be 1-12, 12-1, 12-1, 12-1, 1-12. The intent is to cut into the advantage that the first 3 or 4 teams have in a standard serpentine draft. You can find more detail about this subject in the league articles section. 2) Consider creating 4 divisions of 3 teams each. This would close the gap in the schedule that we have today where each team misses playing 1 of the teams outside of its division. In 4Dx3T format, each team plays its division rivals twice (4 games) and each of the teams outside its division once (9 games). 2a) Playoff formats: 2a1) 4 division champs + 2 wildcard teams. Top 2 division champs get a free pass to the final four. 2a2) Break into 2 conferences. 2 division champs + 1 wildcard from each conference. Conference brackets are separate. Conference champs advance to the championship game.

How about dropping the point per reception? I've lost too many games to teams with a lot of receptions. Hack.
