As an FYI, in case anyone is curious...

I spoke with Mike and Super earlier in the year letting them know that while nothing is out there in writing to stop them from trading their $$$ for next season, they should be cautious with what they do as there are no reprocussions next year because they will not be in the league (or will be merging with another team).  At the same time, I felt that it should not be a factor in their success this year.  There was a balance there that was needed and was difficult to know what it should be.

I asked Mike to only trade up to three dollars as it became apparent that he was going to be a factor in this season's playoffs.  If Super would have been in the hunt, I would have told him the same thing.

It's a tough situation with no perfect answer and if anyone has an issue with it I will fully take the blame.  I blessed the three dollars he has traded.

I didn't think the difference between 1200 or 1203 $$$ in the pot next year would effect a whole lot.

Put yourself in Mike's shoes.  I know I'd want a couple of dollars available to me regardless of if I was leaving or not from a fairness standpoint.

On top of that, he did come forward and tell us he was done this year...hypothetically he didn't have to and it was before the rules had been finalized.  If he hadn't, our league would be 12 teams this year and we'd be scouring for a new team this offseason when he left.

In reality, with all the turnover next year we should probably have halted any $$$ trading this year as it also affects Shane and Super too.  Hindsight is 20/20.

For the record, Mike was offered the Colston trade (that Corey accepted) and declined it last night because of the stipulations stated above (i.e. he would have traded more then three $$$).
