Hey guys, in the offseason I mentioned I'd like to see a rule on the offseason roster limit of 24. I had accumulated a lot of draft picks at the end of last season, and by the second round, I had to cut a player each time I made a pick. For a rebuilding team such as mine, where I was basically throwing a lof of youngsters at the wall to see which ones stuck, it wasnt fun to decide which propsects to keep and which to cut loose. I mentioned this at the time and as I recall, two or three others also mentioned there shouldn't be an offseason cap. As I see it, we should have a vote with 3 options: 1. Keep the cap at 24. 2. Expand the cap to a set number, such as 30. 3. No limit on offseason roster size, with the knowledge you'll have to cut to 20 by cut down day. I know we're only in Week 4, and a 3-0 or 2-1 team couldn't care less about this (as draft picks might not make their teams anyway, lol) but for an 0-3 team such as myself you start thinking sbout these things, and want them to get taken care of before the offseason starts and the phrase "it would have to be put into place next season since this offseason already started" gets thrown around. So, how do we go about voting on an official rule change such as this one? Thanks, Sean (Renegades)

Post a poll. I'd keep the choices to 2, otherwise there is the chance to split votes across two similar choices - i.e. expand rosters to 30 and expand rosters with no limit Personally, I prefer no limit but I'm fine with 30.

oh, I know about the poll, just wanted to know if there is a procedure for making a poll "official". Plus, if it is two choices, it would have to be to expand (either to 30 or unlimited) or not expand, as some may not want to go above 24. I'm fine with 30 or more, but some may not be.

There shouldn't be much difference between 30 and no limit. I recommend you make the poll expand to no limit and if someone objects to no limit but agrees to 30 they can post that here.

2-2 already... might not even pass... I don't get it. Can't understand why somebody would want a cap, but to each his own. I hope they are never in a rebuilding situation or have to stockpile draft picks.

So what happens next? 2 owners didn't bother to vote, and it is 7-3 in favor. Doubt that gives 75% needed to pass. In that case I guess I won't be trading for too many draft picks.

still no answer? Does the rule change pass or not? Two owners didn't even vote. I guess I care more about this than most.

OK, the season is over... before we get into trades and drafting, where do we go from here on the unlimted rosters vs cap at 24 issue?
