| I have to admit that I was stoked when Saban signed on to coach the Dolphins. I was equally excited when I saw that they got Daunte Culpepper. In hindsight those moves are about as bad as any franchise has had in some time. I guess I was eager for the "quick fix" to return the Dolphins to glory. This season has been horrible. I was sure they were going 0-16. Of course, I was ecstatic that they beat Baltimore to at least put up one "W" for the year. Still, is 1-15 or 2-14 that much better? For historical purposes-yes. However, in the broad scheme of things it still points to a pretty poor status for the roster. Enter Bill Parcells. I have always been a Parcells fan. His book that he wrote after the '99 season with the Jets is one of my favorites. I know this--he's not going to look for the "quick fix". This team will methodically draft draft talent that fits the mold as a "Parcells Guy". I like that notion. It's still going to be a season or two of losing records, but at least we can be assured that at the end this team is going to be a solid franchise from top to bottom. It's happened everywhere he's been. |
