CIFFL Update - Wednesday, December 2nd:
* Its over....its all over! It was quite the scene Sunday the 29th...things got REALLY interesting between 4:30 and 6:00 Sunday once the Irish launched their formal comeback with the first AZ Cardinal Defensive TD. Then Anquain Boldin (SD) and Larry Fitzgerald (Chi) started posting numbers, then the Irish's Charger combination of LT and Gates got going and then...out of NOwhere came Atlanta's Chris Redmond. When the dust settled and the improbable comeback was complete, Amie and the league offered stunned congratulations to Michael Downey and the Chicago Irish for edging out the Sammies and WINNING THE CIFFL! It was great entertainment, especially for Pete and Darell who watched the nervous owners run the gamut of emotions while sitting between them and the DirecTV Sunday Ticket package like judges at a tennis match.
* As cool as it was to watch live...it should be pointed out that for the first time in storied history of the CIFFL boys and girls, we have BOTH a first-to-worst AND a worst-to-first in the same season!
* In other news, Dave 'check out my luminous head on the Soldier Field Jumbotron' Menke also caught fire to beat Darrell and the Snakes handily for third place....Larry beat everyone hands down in both the weekly NFL Pool and overall season point total.....League rookies South Hill captured the 'Mediocre Bowl'......and Manhattan emerged from last place to conquer the 'Toilet Bowl'! THANKS TO ALL FOR ANOTHER WONDERFUL SEASON!
* PLEASE VOTE on your choice for the second ignominious jersey by clicking on 'Communications', then 'League Polls'. We've also established final draft positions for NEXT season as follows: 1) Manhattan, 2) Springfield, 3) Bloomington, 4) Texas, 5) South Hill, 6) Bangor, 7) Valpo, 8) Hamel, 9) Johnson City, 10) Rockford, 11) San Diego and 12) our champs Chicago.
* Last but not least....All CIFFL Accounting records AND the head-to-head 'Sidebet Tracker' have been updated! All totals should be accurate and final. Amazingly Texas is the only franchise to OWE money and its a single dollar, so here's to another successful season...check back for details on the Stupor Bowl official league function and celebration on Sunday, February 3rd!
