| BRISTOL THUNDER PRESS RELEASE I'd like to trade Marvin Harrison for a top 5 Rookie draft pick. Marvin was the #1 scoring wide receiver in our league this year. I feel that I have enough depth at WR to offer this trade to improve my team at another position. Prefer a top 5 but all offers considered. ![]() Scoop Woodward's Game of the Week L.A. Predators @ Oldsmar Marauders HALLOWEEN HAVOC LOS ANGELES PREDATORS (6-1) The Predators got back on the winning track last week and are looking to build on that success as they head into Oldmar's House of Pain. QB Rex Grossman(vs.S.F.)is back after having a week off and should be well rested in what looks to be a high scoring affair. The double J's are in the backfield once again this week for L.A. Rudi Johnson(vs.ATL) and Julius Jones(@CAR) will get the most of the ground game action for head coach Jimmy Johnson although wideout Darrell Jackson(@KC) might be the recipient of some trick reverse plays that offensive coordinator Troy Aikman has been known to throw in the gameplan. Flying under the radar is Predator kicker John Carney(vs.BAL) who should see a few more field goal tries as he faces one of the tougher red zone defenses. OLDSMAR MARAUDERS (5-2) Larry Johnson(vs.SEA) leads the hometown team in this battle of bragging rights. Johnson has picked up his 2005 form in the past couple of weeks and head coach William Winn hopes week 8 brings more of the same. Wideout Reggie Brown(vs.JAX) and TE Antonio Gates(vs.Rams) will be Alex Smith's(@CHI) main targets as the Marauders will look to stretch the field as they expect L.A. to crowd the line of scrimmage to stop the run game. Wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery(@CLE) could be a sleeper contributor as he will look to sneak behind the defense as they will be preoccupied with stopping the rest of the Oldsmar offense. And that's...The Inside Scoop! ![]() |

| FEDERAL REWIND PREDATORS FEAST ON CATS After dropping its second straight game of the week Council Grove may not be inclined to let the national media attend any more of its games. The Cats ran into a hot handed Tom Brady and where never really in this game at all. The Predators 71-57 victory came in large part because of Darrell Jackson's 136 receiving yd. day. L.A.'s runningbacks Rudi Johnson and Julius Jones didn't light up the score board but provide a very solid effort out of the ground game that kept the ball out of Council Grove's hands. Cats QB David Carr put forth a solid effort throwing for 224 yds. and 2 TD's while Tiki Barber's 114 rushing yds. set the pace for the running game. Unfortunately a combined 24 points out of the rest of the team was not enough to get by the hungry Predators. Somewhere out there Otis Sistrunk is laughing. In what has become an all too familiar result the Oklahoma Drillers dropped their 7th straight game losing 97-75 to Oldsmar. Memphis' New York Giants defense and RB Landainian Tomlinson set the pace for the Bulldogs 84-76 victory over Topeka. Minnesota took a trip out to Vegas and came up with snakeyes. The Maulers ran into the Devilfish's stone wall Denver defense and came up short losing 89-59. Hines Ward's breakout game of the season came at the perfect time as the Royals rode his 170 yd 3 TD day to a convincing 121-75 victory over Sun City. The lights where on at Bristol Motor Speedway this week. The standing room only crowd got its money's worth as the hometown Thunder slipped by Cumberland 95-93 in the highest rated primetime game of the season. And that's...The Inside Scoop! |

Scoop Woodward's Game of the Week SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST Los Angeles Predators @ Council Grove Cats Los Angeles Predators (5-1) The laws of nature apply this week as the Predators go into Council Grove to face the Cats. After dropping their first loss last week starting QB Tom Brady(@BUF) looks to get L.A. back on the winning track. The backfield tandem of Rudi Johnson(vs.CAR) and Julius Jones(vs.NYG) may be the difference in a win or loss as they both face tough defensive matchups this week. WR Darrell Jackson(vs.MIN) posted some good numbers last week and should be able to build on that success in this matchup. TE Jason Witten(vs.NYG) could pick up some valuable sleeper points as the defense will be looking to stop the rest of the offense which could open up some holes in the middle of the field for him. QB - Tom Brady at Bills RB - Rudi Johnson vs Panthers RB - Julius Jones vs Giants WR - Darrell Jackson vs Vikings WR - Javon Walker at Browns TE - Jason Witten vs Giants PK - Shayne Graham vs Panthers D/ST - Dallas Cowboys vs Giants Council Grove Cats (4-2) Tiki Barber(@DAL) followed up his breakout game of the season last week with announcing his possible retirement after this season. The Council Grove coaching staff is hoping Barber has a change of heart and will continue his career for a couple more seasons. Fresh off a week's rest QB David Carr(vs.JAX) will need all the energy he can get as he faces off against one of the league's toughest defenses. Carr will look to Chester Taylor(@SEA) and T.J. Houshmanzadeh (vs.CAR) to help shoulder the load to defend the hometown turf. Wideout Greg Jennings(@MIA) sleeper status for this game will be on full alert. Jennings faces a defense that has struggled against the pass game as of late. QB - David Carr vs Jaguars RB - Tiki Barber at Cowboys RB - Laurence Maroney at Bills WR - T.J. Topeka Wins By Tor-na-do The FLFF game of the week featured a heavyweight battle that went down to the wire. Double digit scoring efforts by all but one of Topeka's starters helped the Tornadoes get by Council Grove 116-91 and remain 1 game ahead of the Cats in the Landry Division. Steve Smith's 189 receiving yds and 1 TD highlighted a high scoring attack for the Tornadoes that also featured 2 TD's and 106 receiving yds for Laveranues Coles. Topeka QB Chad Pennington was very economical with 175 passing yds to go with his 2 TD passes. Council Grove's Tiki Barber had his breakout game of the season in front of the hometown fans. Barber chewed up the Tornado defense to the tune of 185 rushing yds while Cats QB Marc Bulger's 360 passing yds and 3 TD's was very impressive but not enough to get the win. In other league action we saw what might be one of the strangest events ever to occur in a game. Oklahoma head coach Otis Sistrunk was fired in the middle of the first quarter while he was coaching the game. The Drillers dropped to 0-6 with a 128-72 loss to Cumberland and are now being coach by the team's GM Gene Forstrom. Ladainian Tomlinson's 4 TD performance against Bristol set the pace for Memphis' 105-68 victory over the Thunder. The Oldsmar Marauders rode a 268 passing yd 3 TD performance out of starting QB Matt Hasselbeck to defend the home turf with a 112-85 win over Reading. Jet lag was not a problem for the Springboks this week as they traveled across the globe to Vegas and came away with a 93-62 victory over the Devilfish. The nightcap game brought the first loss of the season for the L.A. Predators. The Minnesota Maulers held one of the leagues top offenses to a season low 49 points. The Maulers got a big day out of RB Ronnie Brown who chipped in with 127 rushing yds and 1 TD. Minnesota sent the Predators hope unhappy with a 61-49 loss. And that's...The Inside Scoop! | Scoop Woodward's Game of the Week Topeka Tornadoes @ Council Grove Cats RING THE BELL! Topeka Tornadoes (4-1) Two of the FLFF heavyweights square off this week as Chad Pennington(vs.MIA) leads a Topeka squad that wont be pulling any punches into the unfriendly confines of Council Grove High School Stadium. Head coach Henry Dopler has his RB's Tatum Bell(vs.OAK) and Willis McGahee(@DET) running the Twister offense like a well oiled machine. Tornado wide receiver Steve Smith(@BAL) will be the main target for the defense this week which should open up some holes in the secondary for TE Jeremy Shockey.(@ATL) Kicker Mike Vanderjagt(vs.HOU) could be a sleeper contributor as he looks to benefit from a lot of scoring opportunities provided by Topeka's high octane offense. QB Chad Pennington vs Dolphins RB Tatum Bell vs Raiders RB Willis McGahee at Lions WR Laveranues Coles vs Dolphins WR Steve Smith at Ravens TE Jeremy Shockey at Falcons PK Mike Vanderjagt vs Texans D/ST Miami Dolphins at Jets Council Grove Cats (4-1) Cats head coach Lois Griffin has overcome her off-season gambling and drinking problems and has Council Grove poised and ready for this matchup. Tiki Barber(@ATL) hasn't reached the endzone this year for the Cats so he is hungry and determined to shine this week as all eyes are on him. Barber is joined in the backfield by special teams coach Peter Griffin's prize pupil Reggie Bush(vs.PHI) Bush scored his first career touchdown last week and looks to build on that success. Council Grove gets back a well rested T.J. Houshmanzadeh which should be QB Marc Bulger's(vs.SEA) main downfield threat. Council Grove's Atlanta Defense(vs.NYG) could score some bonus points for the Cats as they look to force their opponents into unexpected errors. CATS WIN BY A WHISKER This week's game of the week lived up to all of the pre-game hype. Council Grove was able to edge Minnesota by a slim 100-96 victory. Head coach Lois Griffin's decision to bench super rookie Reggie Bush was an unpopular one with the Council Grove faithful early in the week, but at the end of the day they couldn't be happier with the result they saw. The Cats QB Marc Bulger's 220 passing yds coupled with 2 passing TD's set the pace for the high scoring affair. Tiki Barber and Chester Taylor both put up 123 rushing yds as the ground attack was in full force as well. Council Grove's 49er defense held up its end of the bargain posting 4 Int's and one blocked punt. Minnesota rode the back of Fred Taylor's best game of the year but it was not enough to get by the Cats. Oklahoma head coach Otis Sistrunk is on the hot seat as the Drillers dropped to 0-5 with a 65-61 loss to Topeka. Jamal Lewis' disappointing 43 rushing yds had coach Sistrunk biting his hat as the team walked off the field. In other league action the matchup between Cumberland and Memphis resulted in a stalemate as both teams tied at 81. Oldsmar kept their slim division lead in the Lombardi division with a 81-70 victory over Sun City. The Carolina defense's 22 point effort helped seal the deal for the Marauders while Sun City was victimized by a combined 10 points out of their starting backfield. The L.A. Predators extended their winning streak to 5 games with another victory this week. The Vegas Devilfish where the latest victim as they lost the contest 76-62. The nightcap featured Bristol visiting Reading. They Royals got back on the winning track defeating the Thunder 77-63. Reading's Jacksonville defense set a punishing pace for the Thunder and sent the Royal faithful home happy. And that's....The Inside Scoop! A LOOK AHEAD... Scoop Woodward's Game of the Week Minnesota @ Council Grove Minnesota Maulers (2-2) Armed with franchise QB Eli Manning(vs.WAS) the Maulers look to move up in the Landry division with a win over co division leader Council Grove. The wideout tandem of Larry Fitzgerald(vs.KC) and Bernard Berrian(vs.BUF) hope to contribute to the all out air assault that the Maulers have been known for as of late. RB Fred Taylor(vs.NYJ) should bounce back this week and lay the ground work for the Maulers. The Ravens defense(@DEN) has been solid for Minnesota but should be tested a little bit this week. TE Kellen Winslow(@CAR) may contribute a lot more this week which is more than the Minnesota faithful might think. Council Grove Cats (3-1) Pro Bowl RB Tiki Barber(vs.WAS) comes back after a week off and is poised to ruin the upstart Maulers day. His backfield mate Chester Taylor(vs.DET) will also look to run through a defense that might be due for a bad day. Marc Bulger(@G.B) will be looking for Reggie Wayne(vs.TEN) all over the field this week. Wayne should be able to shake loose for more than one big gain. TE L.J. Smith(vs.DAL) hopes to put all of the media hype out of his head and contribute a solid point performance. The 49er defense(vs.OAK) could be a sleeper contributor this week as they face one of the worst offenses in the league. and that's ... THE INSIDE SCOOP |

Federal League Rewind with SCOOP Feel the breeze The previously undefeated Topeka Tornadoes where sent home with their first loss this week at the hands of the Oldsmar Marauders 107-88. The sold out House of Pain witnessed hometown heroes Larry Johnson and Kevin Jones combined 4 TD's turn a vicious Tornado defense into a nice cool breeze. Veteran wideout Isaac Bruce's 100 yd receiving day showed Topeka that he still has something left in the tank. QB John Kitna's 280 yds. passing coupled with kicker Lawrence Tynes 12 points rounded out a very balanced attack to help seal the upset win. Tornado QB Peyton Manning had his usual standout performance compiling 217 passing yds,1 passing TD and an unexpected rushing TD as well, but it was not enough to overcome a very inspired Oldsmar team. The L.A. Predators continued their hot streak as they defeated Oklahoma 95-79. Terry Glenn's 2 TD day set the pace for L.A. as they now have a stronghold on the division lead. The Reading Royals dropped their 3rd straight game this week with a 105-67 loss to Council Grove. The Cats got 81 combined points out of Marc Bulger,Laurence Maroney and their Atlanta defense which was more than enough to get the job done. The Cumberland Polecats maintained their slim division lead with a convincing 137-78 win over the Vegas Devilfish. Head coach Dale Earnhardt's decision to scratch starting RB Brian Westbrook from the starting lineup proved costly as the Thunder dropped one on the road to Minnesota this week. The Maulers gladly accepted Westbrook's absence and trimmed Topeka's division lead to only one game. The nightcap game was a low scoring but tight contest between Memphis and Sun City. Although Memphis didn't get any points out of starting RB Travis Henry they where still able to escape with a 54-46 victory. The Bulldogs have now won 2 in a row and are poised to make a run for the top of the Shula division. And that's..The Inside Scoop! |

| Scoop Woodward's Game of the Week Topeka Tornadoes @ Oldsmar Marauders Storm Brewing? Topeka Tornadoes (3-0) The Tornadoes roll into the House of Pain this week riding a 3 game win streak. Workhorse RB's Frank Gore(@KC) and Willis McGahee(vs. MIN) both hope to continue their early season success and chalk up yet another win for the Tornado faithful. Topeka's field general Peyton Manning(@NYJ) gets his star receiver Steve Smith(vs.NO) back for a second straight week which could also spell trouble for the home town team. The Tornadoes Miami Defense(@HOU) could be the sleeper contributor this week as they face one of the worst offenses in the league. Earlier this week Topeka kicker Mike Vanderjagt issued a severe Tornado warning for the whole Oldsmar viewing area. We will have to wait and see if Oldsmar becomes the next disaster site. Oldsmar Marauders (1-2) If #1 draft pick Larry Johnson(vs.SF) has been saving his breakout game in his back pocket now is the time to shine as all eyes will be on him this week. Johnson's fellow RB Kevin Jones(@STL) should also shine this week as offensive coordinator Gonna Tote Rock has announced a renewed devotion to the running game. The upset minded Mauraders starting wideouts comprised of Reggie Brown(vs.GB) and Isaac Bruce(vs.DET) hope their QB John Kitna(@STL) spots them all over the field this week. The Carolina Defense(vs.NO) provide the anchor support for Oldsmar while Lawrence Tynes(vs.SF) could sneak in a couple of extra points for the Marauders this week as well. | Federal League Rewind with SCOOP Who's Next? The balanced attack of the Predators proved too much for the Cumberland Polecats this week as L.A. ran its winning streak to 3 in a row. A sold out L.A. Coliseum witnessed 35 combined points out of hometown wideouts Darrell Jackson and Chris Henry. Although the ground game didn't provide the much anticipated leg work, the Predators got 16 points out of their defense to provided the necessary spark to get by a very game Cumberland squad. Polecat starters Donovan Mcnabb,Torry Holt and Roy Williams all put up impressive offensive numbers but it was not enough to cover up for a combined 14 points out of the rest of the offense. In other league action the Reading Royals took another one in the chin as they where hammered by the Bristol Thunder 105-43. Bristol's Brian Westbrook had his breakout game of the season scoring 33 points. Oldsmar QB Matt Hasselbeck's 227 passing yds. and 5 TD's helped the Marauders slip by Council Grove 65-64. Topeka remained undefeated as they rode Willis McGahee's big day to a 83-82 victory over Minnesota. Clinton Portis' first game back as a full time starter was a big one. His 164 total yds and 2 TD's left Oklahoma still searching for their first win and propelled Sun City to their first victory of the season. Memphis hosted Vegas in the nightcap game which was a very entertaining contest all the way through. Bulldog receiver Keyshawn Johnson's 21 point outburst was an unexpected but welcomed event for the home fans. The Devilfish suffered a key injury in this game as it was discovered after the contest that starting RB Shaun Alexander has a broken bone in his foot which will sideline him indefinitely. All phone calls to the Vegas headquarters for an update have gone unreturned as of press time. And that's...The Inside Scoop! |

| Scoop Woodward's Game of the Week Cumberland Polecats @ L.A. Predators Hunt or be Hunted Cumberland Polecats Corey Simpson (2-0) Cumberland comes into the L.A. Coliseum this week on a roll. They have won their first two games and look to continue their hot streak against the fellow unbeaten L.A. Predators. QB Donovan Mcnabb(@S.F.) hopes for another big point day while his backfield of Kevin Barlow(@BUF) and Chris Brown(@MIA) will both look to produce a positive effort out of the ground game. All eyes will be on wideouts Torry Holt(@AZ) and Roy Williams(@G.B) as they both face very suspect secondaries this week. Kicker Neil Rackers(vs.STL) could be the sleeper to watch in this matchup. Los Angeles Predators Troy Kurtz (2-0) Head Coach Jimmy Johnson has his Predators hungry for another win. RB Rudi Johnson(@PIT) and QB Rex Grossman have both flourished under new offensive coordinator Troy Aikman's scheme. WR Darrel Jackson(vsNYG) had his breakout game in week 2 and looks to build on his success against a defense that was vulnerable to the pass last week. An emotional return home for Deuce McAllister(vs.ATL) could be a catalyst for a big day as well. Shayne Graham(@PIT) may play a big role in a game that is expected to be all about field position which should lead to scoring opportunities for him. And thats....The Inside Scoop! |

| Federal League Rewind with Scoop Its A Twister! Someone might want to tell the Royals that the storm has passed and they can come out of the basement now. The Topeka Tornadoes blew through Reading and came out with a 96-60 victory. Topeka QB Peyton Manning's 400 yd 3 TD performance coupled with 32 combined points out of starting wideouts Donald Driver and Laveraneus Coles left coach Ramos stomping the sidelines. Frank Gore continued his hot streak for the Tornadoes with another 100 yd game as well. The local media is calling for the benching of Reading's starting QB Jake Delhomme. He posted back to back single digit performances which may lead to a move by the coach. Backup QB Byron Leftwich was asked about the situation after the game but refused to comment. The injury bug hit Reading this week as well. Terrell Owens broke a finger that may sideline him for up to 4 weeks. The Royals are reeling a bit after this week 2 loss. We will have to be on the lookout for lineup changes in the coming weeks. The Bristol Thunder got on the winning track this week by defeating Oldsmar 79-73. Brett Favre's 340 passing yds helped the Thunder get their first win of the year and left the Marauders still searching for a victory of their own. Council Grove continued their winning ways as they got by Minnesota 88-78. The Cats had a very balanced scoring attack from all starters that proved too much for the Maulers. A depleted Memphis Bulldogs put up a game effort but where outlasted by Cumberland 71-48. Cumberland's Donovan Mcnabb and Chicago defense where the Polecats saving grace as they combined for 45 points. Rudi Johnson's 26 point outburst set the pace for the L.A. Predators 94-69 victory over the Springboks. Sun City's Clinton Portis, Najeh Davenport and Chris Baker had a combined total of 0 points in the game. The nightcap game was a close contest between the Oklahoma Drillers and the Vegas Devilfish. Once again the Drillers where bitten by a 0 point performance out of their starting kicker. Vegas gladly took the win and will look to continue their winning ways next week. And that's...The Inside Scoop! |

| Topeka Tornadoes @ Reading Royals Torres Memorial Field Topeka Tornadoes (1-0) Peyton Manning(vs.HOU) leads the Tornadoes into Reading this week where he hopes to pick up where he left off last week. And if you didn't know who Frank Gore(vs.STL) was last week you do now as he was one of the top scoring runningbacks in week 1. Starting wideouts Laveranues Coles(vs.NE) and Donald Driver(vs.NO) will look to bounce back from a subpar week 1. The Miami Dolphin defense(vsBUF) should have a big day against a mediocre Bills offense. Chris Cooley(at DAL) will be a player to watch this week as he has a record of having big games against the Cowboys. Reading Royals (1-0) If Reading can win with Jake Delhomme(at MIN) scoring 3 points again you might have to ask head coach Marco Ramos Jr. if he is living in a dream world. T.O.'s(vs.WAS) homecoming will be something to see this week as he looks to get the home crowd fired up in only the way he can. Edgerrin James(at SEA) and Corey Dillon(at NYJ) both hope to run through the opposing defense with reckless abandon this week. Josh Brown(vs.ARI) could be a sleeper contributor as he faces a weak Cardinal defense that should provide for many scoring opportunites. and that's ... THE INSIDE SCOOP! | FEDERAL REWIND with SCOOP CATS LAP THUNDER Council Grove's Tiki Barber and Chester Taylor combined total of 35 points helped the Cats set the pace and silence the sold out crowd at Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend. Starting QB Marc Bulger's 217 passing yds coupled with 10 points from kicker Matt Stover rounded out a very balanced effort to help Council Grove leave town with a 73 to 70 victory. Bristol starters Brian Westbrook,Marvin Harrison and Heath Miller all did their part to contribute to a win but it was not enough to get the job done. Coach Earnhardt's 0 point performance out of his defense had him fuming in the media room after the game. In other league action the Minnesota Maulers lived up to their name as they crushed Oldsmar 122 to 53. A 20 point effort out of Minnesota's Jeff Wilkins was a welcomed surprise. Topeka's home opener against the Vegas Devilfish was a success as the Tornadoes took the game with a 68 to 40 victory. MVP canidate Peyton Manning's 276 passing yds and 1 TD sent the home crowd away happy. Oklahoma's Sebastian Janikowski 0 point effort let the Reading Royals slip by the Drillers 80 to 78. Head coach Jimmy Johnson got back to his winning ways as his L.A. Predators defeated the Memphis Bulldogs 72 to 67. The Predators starting backfield of Rudi Johnson and Julius Jones where too much for head coach Bill Parcells' defense. The nightcap game saw the Cumberland Polecats travel across the globe and defeat the Sun City Springboks 86 to 65. Donvan Mcnabb's 314 passing yds and 3 TD's made the plane ride home a lot easier for the Polecats. And that's.....The inside Scoop! |

Council Grove Cats (0-0) Brice Lee Head coach Lois Griffin's backfield tandem of Tiki Barber (vs.Ind) and Chester Taylor( @Was.) lead the way into Bristol this week. Starting QB Marc Bulger(vs.Den) may have a feast or famine day against the blitz happy Broncos defense. The lightning fast Reggie Wayne(@NYG) and sure handed T.J. Houshmanzadeh (@K.C.) both look to build on the success they had last season. Look for L.J. Smith (@Hou) to be a sleeper point contributor this week as he will get more looks because of the departure of Terrell Owens. Bristol Thunder ( 0-0) Sonny Chadwell Led by veterans Drew Bledsoe (@Jax) and Marvin Harrison (@NYG) head coach Dale Earnhardt's bump and run offense has a solid foundation set going into this weeks home opener. 160,000 screaming fans will be looking for the "Cadillac" Carnell Williams(vs.Bal) to do the beating and banging this week. The other half of the backfield features Brian Westbrook( @Hou) who looks to rebound from a season ending injury. TE Heath Miller(vs.Mia) will look to improve on an impressive rookie season. Walsh Division Preview By Dan Hosler Vegas Devilfish Daunte Culpepper heads to Miami where he has Chris Chambers to throw to but how will his recovery go? How will his mobility be effected? If Culpepper is going to miss any time it will be up to first year starter Phillip Rivers to step up and be the starting quarterback for the Devilfish. Shaun Alexander leads the way at running back and should be a top 3 option again this year. The other starter for GM Chris Riddle will be Ahman Green, Thomas Jones and Curtis Martin. All of them have questions: injuries, bad attitude/Cedric Benson, and age/injuries respectively. At wide receiver, Santana Moss will be an every week starter. There will be other options depending on matchups. The other starter can be chosen from Muhsin Muhammad, Drew Bennett, and Keenan McCardell. Demetrius Williams appears to be solid dynasty option and could develop into a future starter. THE VERDICT - Injuries are a big concern. Daunte Culpepper will probably be the biggest concern on this team but the running back situation needs to work itself out as well. Sun City Springboks Carson Palmer is said to ready to return to action early in the season. If he is ready for week 1, he will inch in on Peyton Manning's #1 fantasy QB monopoly. He is a great option this year and for the next decade baring injury. Aaron Brooks appears to be the backup so Palmer needs to stay healthy and Brooks needs to win the starting job in Oakland. This years starters for Brian Conklin appear to be Clinton Portis and Warrick Dunn. If Samkon Gado could win the job in Green Bay, the Springboks would have three solid options in the backfield and a bright future with prospects Cedric Houston and Cedric Humes. Sun City has three very good options to start this year and can play advantageous matchups. Plaxico Burress, Anquan Boldin and Derrick Mason makeup a great wide receiver group that has depth beyond them as well. Joey Galloway is still the number one in Tampa despite his age and Ashley Lelie has number one potential that may come through if he is dealt out of Denver. Amani Toomer and Marty Booker are both solid #2 wideouts on their teams. Tight end is a position that could be improved upon but Jerramy Stevens should be a serviceable starter until Sun City either finds an elite tight end or Marcedes Lewis develops into that position. THE VERDICT - A very good team that will rely on Palmer's health to compete. This team is very well rounded and could be a contender. Los Angeles Predators At quarterback, GM Troy Kurtz has a very reliable Tom Brady that has proven over the last couple years has proved to be an elite fantasy option. Drew Brees is only a #2 quarterback on this team because of his injury status. He has been a good fantasy QB the past couple years and should provide excellent depth. Rudi Johnson has been steady the last couple years and should be this teams best running back for years. At #2 they have a less definite situation in Julius Jones. Bill Parcells has said that he would like Marion Barber to get a minimum of 120 carries this year so that could cut into Jones' value. Joseph Addai could take over for Edge in Indy soon after the season begins and would be a great long term value if this happens. Jerome Harrison could also be a great dynasty value if Reuben Droughns can't stay out of trouble. Also, Deuce McAllister is a good running back and if Bush takes over in New Orleans, I would expect him to become a starter elsewhere. Darrell Jackson is the number one wide receiver for the Predators and will have to stay healthy for this team to be elite. Javon Walker is another injury concern and if both would go down it could be disastrous. They do have other options in Terry Glenn and Jerry Porter too but Jackson and Walker have to stay healthy. At tight end, Jason Witten and Ben Troupe are a great duo. THE VERDICT - WR health is everything for this team but Witten could compliment the scoring if injuries should be an issue. |

This Divisional preview is sponsored by the AMERICAN FOOTBALL ALLIANCE. Currently looking to fill a few open positions. League is hosted by EA SPORTS! If interested ... hosler427@gmail.com Shula Division Preview By Dan Hosler, USFLnation Sports ![]() Oklahoma Drillers Oklahoma's quarterback situation has some questions. Will Michael Vick live up to the hype? Will Big Ben make as much of a fantasy splash as he has in the NFL? Matt Schaub and Andew Walter were both low risk/ high reward picks and Schaub also offers a safety net if Vick gets injured. Stephen Jackson gives the Driller's a cornerstone RB for years to come…hopefully. Along with Williams it should be a great combo for a long time. I believe Jamal Lewis is the key to their immediate success though. If he rejuvenates himself into the great 2003 version that had over 2000 rushing yards this could be a very dangerous team. Chad and Andre Johnson gives Oklahoma another great duo to build around for years. Top it off with a great high ceiling talent like Troy Williamson, Vincent Jackson and Maurice Stovall this WR corps should be set. Another Oklahoma strength is TE with Gonzo, Ben Watson and Dave Thomas. Gonzo is the instant #1 but Watson and Thomas should be future #1's. THE VERDICT - Overall a solid draft for Oklahoma GM Gene Forstrom. Jamal Lewis could be the key to this year but either way they have a solid foundation for a strong dynasty team. ![]() Memphis Bulldogs Memphis has the Denver QB tandem of Plummer and Cutler locked up. Cutler should provide future stability while GM Dan Hosler can mix and match his starting QB with the best matchup and hot hand between Plummer, Steve McNair and Billy Volek. The Bulldogs have a strong RB group to build around. Starters should be Ladainian Tomlinson and Dominick Davis to start the season. Cedric Benson will be waiting in the wings and Tomlinson's backup, Michael Turner, is also on board. Wide receiver is a position of a little weakness here. Randy Moss should provide some stability and the rest will be playing matchups and waiting for someone to develop into a good fantasy producer. Eric Moulds, Keyshawn Johnson, Matt Jones and Braylon Edwards wrap up the current viable options. Jeremy Shockey should give the Bulldogs a dependable tight end for years. THE VERDICT - Good draft for now and the future but the Bulldogs need a wide receiver to step up and produce now. I think Matt Jones is the wild card on this team. If he steps into the Jimmy Smith's shoes as the #1 WR in Jacksonville then this could be a playoff team. Randy Moss also has to produce on a consistent basis and Dominick Davis needs to stay healthy. ![]() Cumberland Polecats At QB, Cumberland has now and later covered. Donovan McNabb should be this teams starter every week but if he falls to injury again, Mark Brunell and Trent Green are waiting in the wings along with Green's backup Brodie Croyle. The main problem here is they will have to address McNabb's backup in the near future. Brunell and Green are both within a season or two of retirement. If Croyle doesn't pan out then there is a void here. Lamont Jordan should provide the running back group with some stability. Outside of that there are some questions. Chris Brown can't seem to stay healthy but when he is, he is very productive. Can Kevan Barlow step up and take the job in San Fran??? The Polecats have a nice group of wide receivers led by Torry Holt and Roy Williams. Rod Smith will be a nice third option this year and Mike Williams has a very high ceiling. Tight end is DEFINITELY a position of strength with Vernon Davis and Todd Heap. THE VERDICT - I will say Chris Brown is the key to this teams success. Assuming Brown and McNabb are in the lineup every week, this will be a tough team. Depth is a little bit of an issue so as long as the health is there, the team will be also. |

This Divisional preview is sponsored by the AMERICAN FOOTBALL ALLIANCE. Currently looking to fill a few open positions. League is hosted by EA SPORTS! If interested ... hosler427@gmail.com Landry Division Preview By Dan Hosler, USFLnation Sports ![]() Council Grove Cats When healthy, Marc Bulger is a top 5 fantasy QB. If David Carr can stand up for 12 seconds at a time, he may actually become a solid QB. Tavaris Jackson and Josh McCown have potential as well. Tiki Barber should be a top scorer in the league for a couple more years and Bush and Maroney will step in then. Bush should be a solid starter right away because of his value as a receiver. Chester Taylor is the starter in Minnesota and should be a good starting option every week as well. Cedric Cobbs could end up being the 1,000 yard rusher in Denver this year. Reggie Wayne is a great value and considering Marvin Harrison's age, he will only improve in coming years as the number one Peyton Manning target. TJ Houshmandzadeh is another great #2 on a heavy passing team. David Givens, Brandon Lloyd, and Roddy White all have potential to be great and should give Council Grove some excellent bye week options. Alex Smith and LJ Smith both are good TE's and are growing into great fantasy players. THE VERDICT - Bulger should be the key to the team. If he can stay healthy, the running back situation should carry this team and the WR production should be steady. ![]() Topeka Tornadoes Peyton Manning…what else needs to be said about the QB position? You don't need much depth at QB if your starter is this solid. Actually beyond solid: he is the standard of fantasy QB's. Charlie Frye is said to be "a win at all costs" quarterback. The future will tell if that translates into fantasy production. GM Brad Allen also has the Jets QB situation pretty well taken care of with Pennington and Kellen Clemens on the roster. The Tornadoes have decent depth at running back. The assumed starters are Willis McGhee (the self proclaimed best back in the NFL) and Willie Parker who burst onto the scene last year. On top of that they have three more potential starters in Frank Gore, Tatum Bell and Mike Anderson. They also have a very strong wide receiver corps led by Steve Smith and Donald Driver. Michael Clayton is primed to return to his rookie season production. Antonio Bryant is the default number one in a lackluster 49ers offense that will probably feature Vernon Davis as their go-to guy. Laveranues Coles is steady but unspectacular. At tight end they have Chris Cooley and Randy McMichael which should be more than adequate . THE VERDICT - This team appears to be solid all around. Despite having 5 potential starters at running back, that has to turn into at least 3 definite starters to cover injuries and bye weeks for this team to be top tier. ![]() Minnesota Maulers Minnesota looks to rely on Eli Manning at quarterback but has other options, now and later. Kurt Warner will probably be second on the depth chart but should he get injured (again), Chris Simms should be a solid #3 quarterback. Matt Leinart will step into a great Arizona passing game and could be the Minnesota quarterback of the future. Depth at running back could be a problem for GM Justin Johnson. Ronnie Brown is a great dynasty running back and should anchor this team for years but beyond that there are question marks. Fred Taylor is fragile but luckily the Maulers have Greg Jones as a backup option. De'Shaun Foster is always in injury risk as well but puts up very nice numbers when active. Mewelde Moore could be a very good long term pick. The Maulers have arguably the best dynasty wide receiver in Larry Fitzgerald. As their other starter Lee Evans appears to be another very good dynasty WR but he has yet to prove he can stand the pressure of the double teams as the Bills #1 option. With Joe Horn aging, Donte Stallworth should be the number one receiver in New Orleans and a good #3 WR for the Maulers. At tight end, Kellen Winslow and Anthony Fasano appear to be solid. THE VERDICT - Injuries appear to be the biggest concern on this roster and if De'Shaun Foster can stay healthy they should be in the mix. |

Currently looking to fill a few open positions. League is hosted by EA SPORTS! If interested ... hosler427@gmail.com Lombardi Division Preview By Dan Hosler, USFLnation Sports ![]() Oldsmar Marauders Matt Hasselbeck gives the Marauders a reliable steady hand and Jon Kitna could flourish in Detroit with a good young group of wide receivers and Mike Martz putting in a new offense. Alex Smith has promise to become a top starter. Larry Johnson was a monster last year and should continue on the same path. Reuben Droughns was pretty productive last year and should improve behind an improved offensive line. Kevin Jones should improve under Mike Martz also especially with Marinelli and Martz saying he will be in there every down this year. Marion Barber could be a great starter in the future as well. Wide receiver is the weak area on this team. Reggie Brown could be an impact player but most scouts say he is the #1 in Philly because of necessity not because of talent. Koren Robinson could build on last year's success but many think Troy Williamson is the future in Minnesota. Isaac Bruce is getting up there in age. Joe Jurevicius will start the season as the number one in Cleveland but with Charlie Frye at QB how much production will he have?? Mark Clayton could work into the regular rotation here. He finished strong last year and with McNair in Baltimore he should improve. At tight end…Antonio Gates. What else do you need? THE VERDICT - Matt Hasselbeck, Larry Johnson and Antonio Gates should be able to anchor this team into contention. There is lots of promise at wide receiver but a lot of questions too. If they produce, it should be a good year for Oldsmar. ![]() Reading Royals Jake Delhomme should be the normal starter at quarterback here but Byron Leftwich could develop into that position depending on how is receivers come along. Brad Johnson gets the job done but isn't anything special. He should be a nice fall back plan though. Edge in Arizona…who would have thought?? With their strong passing game, Edge should do really well. Corey Dillon is progressing in age but he should have one more good year in New England before Maroney takes over and LenDale White is waiting in the wings for the Reading Royals. With Chris Brown's injury history it is only a matter of time before White takes over the job in Tennessee for good. There are also big possibilities for TJ Duckett if he gets traded. Wide Receiver is a big strength. Terrell Owens and Hines Ward will be a hard duo to top. TO should do very well in Dallas before he rips Bledsoe and the team falls apart but that will be next year. Kevin Curtis is slowly taking over the #2 role in St. Louis and Nate Burleson's numbers should increase this year now that he is in Seattle. Alge Crumpler, Dallas Clark and Joe Klopfenstein should provide a solid TE position. THE VERDICT - If Corey Dillon can keep it together in New England and hold Maroney on the sidelines, it should be a great year for the Royals. ![]() Bristol Thunder At Quarterback, Drew Bledsoe and Brett Favre are the QB's of today and Jason Campbell and Aaron Rodgers are the QB's of tomorrow. Bledsoe should get Bristol through the first couple years and his numbers should increase with TO in town. Campbell has got some good reviews so he could be the starter on this team in a couple years. This team has 4 possible starters are running back. Cadillac Williams should build on last year's success and Brian Westbrook is a solid starter as well. Rhodes is a little questionable with Joseph Addai in Indy as well. As a diehard Giants fan, I can say that I don't think Ron Dayne is the answer in Denver but what the hell do I know? Mike Shanahan could turn a ball of ear wax into a 1,000 yard rusher. Chris Chambers and Marvin Harrison could give the Reading Royals receivers a run for their money. They should offer some great production every week. Deion Branch is a great #3 fantasy option and Michael Jenkins has the potential to be a number one in Atlanta. Heath Miller had a good rookie season and should be a good TE for many years. THE VERDICT - With Bledsoe, Cadillac, Westbrook, Chambers, Harrison, and Miller as the starters this is a very solid team. Steady production from the running backs is the key. |

Team -- Council Grove Cats GM -- Brice Lee Location -- Council Grove, KS Coaching staff located in -- Quahog, Rhode Island Fantasy Football Life -- 6 or 7 years, kind of hard to remember that time Best Finish -- I won one league championship in 2004 and three in 2005. This is the first dynasty for me, so I brought in a little help for my coaching staff. Game Philosophy -- “If I had that machine I could escape these wretched harridans…GO CYBORG!” Other Fantasy Sports -- I’m not sure I understand the question. Does that mean there are sports besides football? Head Coach -- Lois Griffin-- She is currently appealing her recent suspension for gambling on video poker and cock fighting. Offensive Coordinator- Brian Griffin -- He is undergoing rehabilitation for extensive injuries inflicted when Stewie had to collect an outstanding debt from him, but should be good to go by training camp. He is studying the offense from his hospital bed. Defensive Coordinator -- Chris Griffin He is currently involved in rigorous training to learn what the positions in the playbook mean. By training camp we’re hopeful he will know the difference between defensive linemen, linebackers, and defensive backs. Head of Psychological Operations/Cheerleading Coach -- Stewie Griffin Special Teams/Conditioning Coach -- Peter Griffin (former player with the NE Patriots and London Silly Nannies) Head Cheerleader -- Meg Griffin (No one else wanted the job) Stadium -- Council Grove High School Stadium |
