AI-FLL Week FIVE…In REVIEW!!
MinP-31 def Dawg-07 ...the -2FP
performance by Pennington really hurt Chris’ Pounders,
but even more, the 61-39 D-Squad advantage for the Profits determined this
one…in fact those two showings (D-difference + Pennington’s negative)
represented the victory margin in Wk.5… …the Dawg left 30FP in D-scoring on the bench with the Balty DB (10FP) & the Vikings DT (20FP)…ouch!... …the Dawg remains our only winless team in 2K6, while the MinP moved to 4-1 and took the lead in the Landry… Records/Next: MinP (4-1) versus Bart (2-3); MyFL spread =
Bart by 0.9FP Dawg (0-5) versus Dude (2-3); MyFL favors Dawg by 2.7FP
Sags-23
def Sems-21 ...talk about a
nail-biter! this is as close as it gets
in the AI-FFL, and it was an Eye-Full to watch it develop…TomC’s
fortunes turned on the Sheppard (Phi DB) 102yd TD return, much as the Eaglet’s
fortunes turned on that play… …Woody &
Steven actually won the O-scoring (79-70), but the 58FP put up by the Sagueros D-slots won that side of the ball (58-47)…47FP is
actually a strong D-showing…but 58FP is simply phenomenal… Record/Next: Sags (3-2) versus Terr (2-3); MyFL takes the Sags by 15.5 Sems (1-4) versus MaaM
(2-3); MyFL says MaaM by 3.8
Bart-22 def MaaM-00 ...Bets could’ve
used some points from her capable, yet invisible, WRs in this one…the trio of
Bryant, Coles, and S.Moss put up only 6FP combined… …of course, Rich’s
Barts dominated both phases of the game, with a 68-55
edge on O and a studly 60-48 edge on the D-side…again, a dominating D contributed
significantly to the goose-eggs from the Mammadawgs… ...this result put
these two squads in a 2-3 deadlock behind the Wallers in the Grant Division… Record/Next: Bart (2-3) versus MinP (4-1); MyFL gives Barts a
0.9FP edge MaaM (2-3) versus Sems
(1-4); per MyFL, a slight 3.8FP margin for MaaM
Wall-34 def Terr-24 ...Paul’s Terriers
suffered their 2nd straight decent showing without a “W”…pappasan’s Wallers posted the 2nd highest Wk.5 final score,
and moved ahead in the Grant Division… …it was the 91FP
from the O-side that propelled the Wall this week…their 35FP from the
D-positions was uninspiring (the Terr had the
D-advantage, 57-35, in fact)…but when you put up near-100
on offense, you’re in a decent position …the non-start of
Culpepper, who was in the Terr lineup, might’ve been
the difference in this one…gotta watch that NFL Injury Report, eh?... Record/Next: Wall (3-2) versus SeoT (4-1); MyFL picks Wall by 1.0FP Terr (2-3) versus Sags (3-2); MyFL has Sags by
15.5FP (2nd biggest spread of the week)
XCar-12 def Dude-00 ...a 2nd
close victory for FredO, and winning with sub-par
productivity is always key in FF…Jim-Dude couldn’t couldn’t overcome his 36-59FP D-disadvantage in this one… …the X-Cards had
four players post nada last week, but the very strong D-showing overcame the
meager 51FP posted by the Dudes O-players…since the XCar
only posted 48FP on O themselves, this was truly a game won by the defense (as
the score can attest)… …this Madden
Division contest put the X-Cards in the driver’s seat in a very tight division…still room for movement in the Madden, but give FredO the early nod… Record/Next: XCar (3-2) versus Rott
(4-1); MyFL tips towards Rott by 15.6FP Dude (2-3) versus Dawg (0-5); MyFL sez Dawg by 2.7FP
SeoT-41 def Rott-12 ...a convincing
takedown of the last undefeated AI-FFL franchise by Michael’s Train…it moved
his SeoT to #52 in the International Rankings,
too…plus it tangles the Noll Division race and makes that worth watching for
the rest of the year… …FredH’s Rott didn’t underperform
in this one, with 56FP from their O-plays & a rock-solid 51FP from the
D-positions…but our South Korean contingency put up 92FP from their
offense…that put them over the top in this Noll showdown… …29FP by the Phi
DL (for the Rott) was offset
by the 27FP by McNabb (for the SeoT)…the difference
was between the RBs (19-5FP advantage for Record/Next: SeoT (4-1) versus Wall; MyFL picks (incredibly)
Wall by 1.0FP Rott (4-1) versus XCar;
MyFL has Rott by 15.6FP (biggest spread this week)
…well, that’s edition #3 (for Wk.5) of the Review…hope it’s worth
the read… good games to all! |

MinP-44 def Wall-34 ...this Father/Son Showdown ended up with the child becoming
the “Daddy”, as the MinP (3-1 record now) got a great
day from their O-Squads (84FP) to withstand the -7FP deficit to pappasan’s
D-Squads... …a 10FP difference is fairly close, by AI-FFL standards…and the goose-eggs by Wall (2-2 record) QB A.Smith (SF), TE D.Owens (Hou), and ST Chicago didn’t help the `Flowers’ cause, whatsoever… …this one kept the Wallers from
developing an edge in the standings in the Grant Division…while it allowed such
an edge for the Profits…
MaaM-25 def Sags-16 ...Bets has been benefiting from some lackluster competition
the last few weeks…her 2-game win streak has been against teams that posted
16FP (this time out) & 0FP (last time)… …TomC’s Sags (sitting at 2-2),
meanwhile, have the 3rd best PF (before D-subtracts) in the AI-FFL,
and yet are now resting at that 2-2 record…go figure!... ...Santana’s (WR/Was) 31FP was a
clear indicator that Ma’am (also with a 2-2 record) had hope in this one, as he
outscored the Cacti receivers by 17FP, on his own…
Bart-63 def Sems-42 ...a really good AI-FFL contest here,
as both teams scored respectably… …Rich’s Bart’s squad, moving to 1-3 in the standings, just
edged the Wood-family in both O-scoring (91-81) and on the D-side (39-28)…if
either of those categories had been reversed, this may well have ended up a
tie… ...the difference appears to be that Bart’s had 5 positions
top 15FP, while the Sems (now at a similar 1-3
record), despite plenty of double-digit scoring (8 positions) had no one hit
the 15FP mark… …every position counts in the AI-FFL, I guess…
Rott-40 def Terr-27 ...FredH became our lone remaining
undefeated squad in 2K6 with this sound victory over a good Bostonian
squad…possibly a rivalry developing between our NE dog contingency?... …plenty of scoring in this one, but it was dominant D-scoring
(63-31) for the Rott (4-0 record) that salvaged the
victory…FredH actually lost the O-output by a 71-90
margin; but his D-squads were enough to overpower Paul’s Terr
(2-2 in the W-L columns), this time around… …the loss cast the Terriers into a 3-way tie in the Namath Div…the win kept the Rotters ahead of reigning champ Seoul Train in the Noll Div…
XCar-38 def Dawg-30 ...better scoring by Chris’ Pound, but still not enough as FredO rode strong days from Peyton & Glenn (19FP ea)
& had five other slots post 10+FP… …the Dawg is now 0-4, which is a
risky proposition in a 13-game FF season, if you want to make the playoffs… …the XCar (at a 2-2 record), meanwhile,
maintained position in a tightly-wound Madden Div… …both teams had acceptable AI-FFL performances, but they’ll
also both need to be more overpowering to continue to
advance…especially in the post-season…
SeoT-59 def Dude-25 ...D-scoring was even (just a 44-43 advantage for the Train),
but Michael put up 101FP from his O-positions…that kind of output is difficult
to best by anybody… …the 34FP from McNabb, plus the 21FP & 19FP from RBs T.Jones & Portis certainly
helped the SeoT (3-1 record now) carry the day… …Jim-Dude only had 3 players reach double-digits, which helped
doom the Dude (now at 2-2)… …still, the season is young…both the Dudes & the Train are
in the thick of some intense early-season divisional races…gotta love it!...
…ok, there’s edition #2 of the Review for you…I promised
they’d be sporadic, and I swear I won’t let you down on that promise (heh!)… bye4now! |

AI-FLL Week One…In REVIEW!!
MinP-39 def Sags-35 ...the Profits
overcame a real strong 50FP showing from the Sagueros
D-Squads to eek out the win... …only 10FP from the Sags WR threesome was hard for Tom to endure...this game ended up turning on the 89FP scored by the FWer's Offense... …this was a real tight game between Landry Div competitors...it promises some fun when the two teams revisit their rivalry in Wk12... …and it might show a power surge in the Landry...
XCar-37 def Sems-0 ...Woody took one
of the goose-eggs this past wk'end (just like the Real Deal, we seemed to have
more shutouts than you'd expect) ...a remarkable
28FP from the Cincy DL, plus double-figures from
Payton, Boldin, Stallworth,
Vinatieri, & two of their D-Squads, allowed FredO to win strong ...Woody + Steven got only 20FP from 4 WR plays (a 5FP/avg for the mathematically dis-inclined)...not good...
Wall-49 def MaaM-45 ...a game where a
superb D-performance (55FP from pappasan's `flowers) managed
to squelch an impressive O-showing (100FP--!!)
from Bets' Ma'am ...D-Squads do make a difference, eh? ...still, the -2FP from the Indy DT prob'ly doomed Bets...pappasan got solid showings across the board (only the ST scored below 5FP, and he had 7 slots notch double-figures) ...another example of a highly competitive divisional contest...gotta love those!
Rott-6 def Bart-0 ...our
second shutout was a lot closer...looks like that Seahawks/Lions game, eh? ...these two teams
were diametrically opposed: Rich's Barts had decent O-scoring (53FP) & lackadaisical
D-postings (37FP); while FredH gathered 68FP on D
& only 43FP on the O-side ...when the dust settled, it was close--excitingly close (as opposed to the Real Deal)--but FredH survived the fracas...
Dude-33 def Terr-19 ...a solid showing
by Jim-dude, topping Paul's Terriers in both scoring categories by just enough
to garner the W ...LDT did his
usual great job for the Dudes, but it might've been Palmer's measly 3FP that
doomed ...there were some promising plays by the newbie Bostonians, but the Dudes had the answers in Wk1...
SeoT-66 def Dawg-15 ...well, Michael
is staking his claim for another AI-FFL title early, folks...his 99FP on Off was superlative (as in: our Bowl)...plus he almost hit
50FP with his D-scoring ...Chris found a
jewel in Gore, it appears...but a lackluster showing by Cadillac combo'ed with T.Green's harsh
hit, put the Pound in the, ah, pound in this one ...the Dawgs appear to have potential on the O-side, but McNabb + 6 others scoring 11+FP apiece kept the Train on track to start the 2k6 campaign...
well, there ya go...hope that's worth the read... |
