.Norwood looks poised to return (Rotoworld) Jerious Norwood (hip) returned to a full practice on Wednesday. Analysis: Norwood is finally poised to return that's sidelined him since Week 6. Grab him in deeper leagues, but Jason Snelling will start Sunday against Tampa Bay.6 hours
.Jerious Norwood (RotoWire) Norwood (hip) participated fully in Wednesday's practice, AtlantaFalcons.com's J. Michael Moore reports. Analysis: Michael Turner also returned to practice, though he was limited, so the Falcons' backfield will be one of the great unknowns heading into the weekend. Jason Snelling owners and Turner owners will especially need to keep a close eye on the situation before starting either of them against the Buccaneers. We'll update Norwood's and Turner's status after each day of practice this week.6 hours

.Ahman Green doubtful for Thanksgiving (Rotoworld) Ahman Green (groin) is listed as doubtful for Thanksgiving. Analysis: Brandon Jackson will step into the third-down back job against Detroit. He had 10 touches in the role last week, but likely won't see as many Thursday. Green Bay can use more I-formations against a soft Lions run defense.8 hours
.A. Smith not being asked to carry offense (TheHuddle) Lowell Cohen, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Singletary said he will limit how often QB Alex D. Smith is used out of the shotgun formation, instead continuing to rely on a run-first philosophy. "One of the worst things we could do right now is to put Alex D. Smith in shotgun and say, 'OK, let's go get it, guys,' and let him throw 40, 50 times a game," Singletary said. "Alex is throwing as well as any quarterback in the league right now. He is as accurate as any quarterback in the league. The smartest thing for us to do is not to take all of training camp and just throw it out and say, 'We're going to go to the sh... (More)9 hours

.49ers | A. Smith does not think offense should change (KFFL) Gwen Knapp, of the San Francisco Chronicle, reports San Francisco 49ers QB Alex D. Smith said he does not think the team should change to the spread offense this late in the season even though they have had success in that offense in games earlier this season. 2 days
.Smith doesn't want a full-time spread (Rotoworld) Alex Smith said that going to a spread offense full time is not a realistic option. Analysis: Smith was wretched in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Packers. Then the Niners went to the shotgun-spread formation almost exclusively in the second half and Smith got them back in the game. He threw for 222 yards in the second half vs. five in the first half. "To say midseason we're going to go to a spread offense, it's impossible," Smith said.2 days
.Robbie Gould (RotoWire) Gould connected on 4-of-5 field goal attempts in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. Analysis: Gould's only miss was a blocked 48-yard attempt early in the fourth quarter. Gould has now made 16-of-19 field goal attempts on the season.2 days
.Alex Smith (RotoWire) Smith completed 16-of-33 passes for 227 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in Sunday's loss to the Packers. Analysis: Smith was horrid early on, going just 3-of-7 for five yards in the first half. He picked it up big time in the second half though, a result of the 49ers going exclusively to a spread offense with him in the shotgun formation. Smith bounced back strong from his 118-yard effort last week against the Bears. He'll get a nice matchup in Week 12 against a vulnerable Jags secondary.2 days
.Jones goes over 100 (Rotoworld) Thomas Jones rushed 21 times for 103 yards in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. Analysis: Jones piled up 40 of those yards in complete garbage time, but that doesn't change the fact that he is running well. And more importantly, Shonn Greene barely sniffed the field. Jones has an excellent matchup with the injury-depleted Panthers next week and will be a RB2.3 days
.Santonio Holmes (RotoWire) Holmes had seven receptions for 86 yards against the Chiefs in Week 11. Analysis: Holmes continues to get his looks (10 targets Sunday) and yards, but he also continues to frustrate anyone who has him in touchdown-heavy leagues. He failed to find the endzone for the ninth straight game Sunday.3 days
.Hines Ward (RotoWire) Ward hauled in 10 catches for 128 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's loss to Kansas City. Analysis: Ward gets back into the passing attack in a huge way as he had just 12 receptions and 71 yards receiving over the last three games combined. He is certainly not showing his age as the 33-year old leads the team in catches (63), yards (798) and is tied for the lead in touchdowns (5).3 days

Analysis: It's almost an identical stat line to last week's performance. Holmes now has 20 catches in his last three games after having just 21 in his first fix. He's yet to find the end zone since Week 1, so he's due for a score at Baltimore next week.3 days
.Hines Ward catches 10 passes in Week 11 (Rotoworld) Hines Ward caught 10 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown against the Chiefs in Week 11. Analysis: Ward was targeted 14 times as Big Ben's go-to receiver. He took advantage of Roethlisberger's escapability, finding an opening in the end zone for an 8-yard score in the second quarter. He's on pace for 101 receptions and 1,277 yards in his age-33 season. Consider him a WR2 at Baltimore next week.3 days
.Alex Smith throws three TDs in loss (Rotoworld) Alex Smith completed 16-of-33 passes for 227 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception in the 49ers' Week 11 loss. Analysis: Smith had just three completions for seven yards in the Green Bay-dominated first half, but the 49ers got within striking distance in the final two quarters. Going with a shotgun-spread offense, San Francisco was able to move the ball and made what looked to be a blowout a 30-24 game when all was said and done. Still, the 49ers do not want to make the spread their base offense. Smith will remain inconsistent going forward.3 days

.Ahman Green (RotoWire) Green has a groin injury and did not practice Friday, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Greg A. Bedard reports. He is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers. Analysis: You shouldn't be planning to use Green this weekend regardless, but if you were banking on him as a shot-in-the-dark flex, it's time to look elsewhere. Brandon Jackson would handle the backup RB duties if Green can't play.5 days
.Packers | Green questionable for Week 11 (KFFL) Pete Dougherty, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers RB Ahman Green (groin) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 20. He is listed as questionable for Week 11. 5 days
.Jerious Norwood (RotoWire) Norwood (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants, the New York Daily News' Ralph Vacchiano reports. Michael Turner, who is listed as doubtful, is not expected to play.5 days

However, Snelling will likely see most of the action this week against the Giants.5 days
.Norwood questionable (Rotoworld) Jerious Norwood (hip) is listed as questionable for Week 11. Analysis: Norwood appears likely to make his first appearance since Week 6, but isn't a fantasy option against the Giants. The Falcons' No. 2 back has been out since October 18th with a hip injury, and seems unlikely to play a significant role this Sunday against the New York Giants. With starter Michael Turner also likely being sidelined due to his high ankle sprain, third-stringer Jason Snelling should get the start in New York. Analysis: Norwood is an explosive back... Analysis: Norwood's return to practice is a good indication he'll be able to play in Week 11 against the Giants and see a significant amount of action. Those who plucked Jason Snelling off the waiver wire assuming he'd get the vast majority of carries in Michael Turner's absence may be disappointed.6 days
