Commissioner Date Sat Dec 9 8:00:32 p.m. PT 2006
I sent all of you an email- would like you to respond/communicate here (instead of through email) because I want the discussion open and not private...

So if you are IN for 2007 for sure, I would like to know if possible via responding to this posting...
Warheads Date Sat Dec 9 8:03:32 p.m. PT 2006
Of course, I am in. Prize wise, I will go with whatever is decided.
Terminators (Available) Date Sat Dec 9 8:45:08 p.m. PT 2006
i sent an email response to all, but for the sake of the message board, i will repeat here that i will not be able to participate next season.  good luck to everyone and thanks for a fun season.

Todd Karraker (Rammers) is "in"... which is good for him, as we will likely establish draft order worst to first!!! Looks like a potential first round pick for Todd!

How we determine next years draft order is open for some discussion though... again, only people committed (and "paid", once we establish the "payout" structure) will be able to participate in the discussions.

We also have another person who is not a stranger to keeper leagues who is interested... more on that soon.

Any others that are in let me know...

Servos is "in".

So far, Joe, Jackie and Ray are out. Jackie and Ray both said it takes a lot of time and that it is more than they have time for right now. Jackie really wanted to do it, but conceded to herself that she just can't take on more right now, and is respectful of the fact that we will need folks that stay pretty engaged in the process.

Tom will replace Captain Jacko ---

Oney is back- all is well with him. Job emergency kept him away with travel.

Oney is in for 2007.

Robb (Warheads) Marc (Global) Todd (Rammers) Doug (Assassins) are in. Tom will take the place of Jack-O, with Juggernauts. That is 4 spots (of 10) renewing, with three vacated, and one new person.

Would like to hear from the rest of you as soon as you can respond... In two weeks we will either embark on a playoff pool for fun, or start on rule setting, or both. You are certainly welcome to partake in the playoff pool even if you are not interested in returning next year. No pressure on that.

Todd (Rammers)
Torbert (Hammer)- Ken is somewhat 'conditional'. He has expressed, as others have, that he might have underestimated the amount of time this might take, in order to be competitive. Ken ties his competitive balance to his schooling (surely we all agree that is more important than a league like this) and his family (ditto). He also has a concern that this could wind up costing more than he would like.

I completely respect and understand all of Ken's objections, and I have encouraged Ken to take a wait and see approach to the next season. One, we may not be as costly as I have suggested. For me, as commissioner, the payout is not important. It will be what we want it to be as a group. However, for it to be fun and meaningful to some, I would not suggest that 5 people lower the payout to keep one player, if in fact the majority of the group would like to have a larger payout structure. That is the harsh reality, but at the same time, we don't even know what the reality IS yet. So, as I suggested some time ago, the first thing we need to know is who is staying, and what should the league fee and payout structure be. Resolving that will resolve some of the other issues.

I should clarify that what Ken is concerned about is not the money, but rather that the more this costs, the more it becomes a serious endeavor, and therefore, the more it 'requires' he put serious effort into this. I understand his need to balance family and school over fantasy football.

So- Ken is in for now, and we will have to see what the coming discussions bring. I hope we can come to some conclusion that will keep him in. Even if it means we have a $30 per person league, but we keep him in by threatening we will show up on his doorstep and pull a "Hoffa" on him...

We know where you live, and how to make you talk!

5 in (Robb, Todd, Marc, Doug, Ken- for now), 3 out (Ray, Jacque, Joe), one new person (Tom).

Thoughts welcome. More to discuss soon...

Good luck this weekend to all in the mock playoffs!!!!!!!

I will give it another shot, so count me as being in for next season
Commissioner Date Thu Dec 21 9:13:55 p.m. PT 2006
Very glad to have you, Jake!

In now are:
Robb Bunker (Warheads)
Doug Oney (Assassins)
Marc Servos (Global)
Todd Karaker (Did I get that last name spelling right?)  (Rammers)
George Jacobs (Night Stalkers)
Tom Smernaos (Jet Nation)
Ken Torbert (Hammer- Conditional at this time)

6 in, one conditional but hopefully in. That is 7 out of 10.

We had three say they would not be in next year, so that leaves three openings which I am trying to fill as soon as I can. I would prefer to have at least 10 teams.

We will start rule and fee discussions very soon after this week is over, but, likely will give some down time of course to let people get through the Holidays...

And, Merry Christmas too all of you!
