| BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEMBERS - Please follow this link -- http://glffl.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=264 -- to give your comments and final ruling in this matter. As always, if you are a member of this league, feel free to post that info but you need to abstain from the voting and the discussion. LEAGUE MEMBERS -- Please follow the same link -- http://glffl.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=264 -- for updates on the final ruling in this matter but let the BOD debate the issue without direct input on the message board. Hey guys-- Just to give you a heads-up, a recent trade has officially been protested by a member of this league. Here is the trade in question: WAHOOS gave up: Gabriel, Doug NEP WR Williams, Reggie JAC WR *Shenandoah gave up: Johnson, Chad CIN WR League Link-- http://football19.myfantasyleague.com/2006/home/60000 As a result, the protest has been forwarded to the GLFFL's Board of Directors, per the requirement as outlined in the league rules -- http://www.glffl.net/michigan_rules.html -- and copied below: "The league has the ability to call for a trade veto within 48 hours of the trade becoming official during the regular season and 72 hours of the trade becoming official during the off-season. Making a case to call for a veto vote must consist of something more substantial than "I don't agree with the trade and I want to vote against it." The owner calling for the veto should post a rationale on the league message board and send out an email to the commissioner for consideration by the entire league. Once this occurs, the trade will be voted on by a 15-member panel of the GLFFL's Board of Directors, consisting of the owners who have the longest tenure and most representation in the GLFFL. This way, deals can be decided by individuals who are unbiased since they are not a part of the league in question. In the event that members of the Board of Directors are involved in the trade in question, they must abstain from the voting procedure. Trades will be vetoed if 60 percent (nine panelists) vote for a reversal within the 48-72 hour period." All Board Members: Please leave your opinions and your ruling in the thread to follow. Here's what the protesting owner had to say: ----- Original Message ----- Sent: Saturday, October 07, 2006 12:37 PM Subject: Protest League - mich 14 Kirk I'd like to protest the most recent trade: WAHOOS gave up: Gabriel, Doug NEP WR Williams, Reggie JAC WR *Shenandoah gave up: Johnson, Chad CIN WR Specifically, Chad Johnson, ranked as a top 10 WR was traded for Gabriel and Williams, neither of which are number #1 WR's on either respective leagues. Gabriel isn't even the third ranked WR on NE. Additionally, neither are even ranked as top 50 WR's. How could anyone feel that this is a fair trade? This would only be fair if Wahoos gave up their #1 pick in addition to what they gave up. Kirk, please off your thoughts as to how you thought that this was fair? There isn't anyone who would have not wanted to be on the Johnson receiving side of this trade. Regards, Dan peninsula Thanks, Kirk Pavelich Founder, www.glffl.net Everyday. Year Round.
