Peterson RB from Zero U, since that is the only PLAYER they have!!!!!!:-D  HOOK 'EM HORNS

A.D. is the only offensive player that will go in the draft next year thats for sure.  cOUrse we only have 2 seniors (qb thompson & left tackle) starting & only 2 juniors (rb ADRIAN A.D. PETERSON & fullback) starting...the other 7 starters on offense are all SOPHOMORES !!!

we were at the game last saturday, always a great game to go to.  now 2 in a row for the horns, next year shOUld get it back on track going the other way...need another FIVE in a row for my SOONERS :-D

guess the game was tooooo much for ol' Bevo 13 to take... on ESPN today they reported ol BEVO 13 croacked... he lasted 16 years, thru 3 head coaches...but finally FINALLY saw UT get a championship after that 35 year drought (which the lil hornies had to sit by watching OU win National Championships in 74, 75, 85, & 2000):lol::lol:

any truth in reports that horns' fans are secretly praying to finish 3rd in BCS so they don't have to face the buckeyes again :-o:lol::lol::lol:

Hey Kats
At least there is one OU fan willing to post.  Have pride.  Hook 'em Horns.

Looking for 3 in a row next year.

OU still needs a QB and I hear Peterson will declare for next years draft.  That means OU needs a QB and a RB plus a head coach that can win the BIG game!!!!

AD definitely will go, he won't be as dumb as benson to stay a senior year

do need a qb.. that idiot Bomar hurt us there, missed on some prospects last year.

do have THE HEAD COACH in place though.. remember.. he schooled ol' former OU coord Mack Brown what... 63-14 in NAT'L CHAMP year 2000 and again 65-14 in 2002...

so in Big Title games.. each have won one now...

in Red River Rivalry games...i think the tally is Stoops 5 Brown 3 now :lol::lol:

but was a good game.. will give mack credit, they made the halftime adjustments... shut us down in 2nd half (course we helped a ton with turnovers/penalties)... OU had 10-7 halftime lead and didn't score in 2nd half at all... cOUrse we turned the ball over 5 times to none... we just didn't execute... think we had about 4 or 5 procedure calls and then had another 3 or so offsides on defense.  penalties and turnovers... we shot OUrselves in the foot last saturday

looking at the schedule...i think Missouri poses the biggest threat for OU to run the table, we should finish 2nd in the South at 9-2 and be back in the Cotton Bowl on Jan 1

good luck on your horns the rest of the way... in conference play of course i won't be sad should the Horns stumble...but i am always ALWAYS for the BIG 12 in non-conference play...so should your Horns get another shot at the Buckeyes...i will be for the BIG 12 !!!

oops my bad.. it was 65-13 in 2002, texas got 14 in the 63-14 blowout in 2000.

and since end of WW II... with these last 2 wins, Texas AGAIN leads the series 30-28-3 (1946-2006) and bigger overall lead in series since began in 1900 although was several periods wayyyy wayyyy back in the 1920s that they didn't play each other every year BUT overall Texas leads the series 57-39-5 since 1900... (Texas 27-11-2 between 1900-1945)

pretty amazing actually when you go back and look at how many times either Texas or OU won the game 2-4 consecutive years only to see it turn again and the other then reel off 2-4 wins !!!
in the 50s, OU won 7-3, in the 60s it was Texas 9-1, in the 70s it was OU 6-3-1, in the 80s it was OU 5-4-1, in the 90s it was Texas 7-2-1, and so far in the 2000s, its OU 5-2...

With OU losing AD and needing a QB I see another 8-3 or 9-2 year for OU next year.  Zero U will have lots of experience on the O and D lines but will be lacking in the skill positions.  Texas will be just the opposite, experience at the skill positions and little to none in the O and d lines.  I always root for the Big 12 teams, even UT@N (which is how I like to look at the sooners).:lol:

we definitely get a lot of players from BAJA OKLAHOMA (aka texas):lol::lol:

gotta remember though, a kid has zero control over where momma gives birth at and where they are raised by parents and have to attend the local schools...BUT once they hit 18 and adult.. they can CHOOSE where they want to go to college...  amazing how many Texas players don't pick UT, A&M, Tech, Baylor, SMU, Rice, Houston, or the myriad of smaller colleges but opt to head OUt and play elsewhere !!!  course population wise not even close... Texas at nearly 21,000,000 and Oklahoma at 3,400,000...

even my wife (KAT) said before we go down for the game next year she was going to have a custom shirt to read "Texan by birth...Sooner by the grace of God":lol::lol: (she was born in Dennison and almost all of her family still lives in the Dennison-Sherman area)

will say too, there are quite a few "pockets" of big OU fans in texas.  when i lived in West Texas in 1975-1978 (Muleshoe, Texas pop. 4,400 and home of The National Mule Monument ) really weren't that many Longhorn fans out there in the panhandle at that time, bunch of Texas Tech fans of course since only 70 miles from Lubbock and a ton of Texas A&M Aggie supporters, but also quite a few OU Sooners fans as well, one little farming community was named Oklahoma Lane and a bunch of the farmers there were Okies that the family had moved/settled out there during the 1930s dustbowl exodus from Oklahoma... we cut corn for a couple of farmers there and one in particular prOUdly flew his OU flag everygame day... even in 1987-1988 when i moved back & lived in Hereford TX, just 60 or so miles west of Amarillo... at that time, the main AM Sports radio station in Amarillo was a member of the OU Radio Network and carried all the Sooners games !!!

okay NOW i will have to admit the 'family shame'... my nephew & neice both graduated from Texas A&M  my brother still lives in Lubbock, he and my (now) EX-Sister-in-law are diehard AGGIES...

now i will have to say though, since i went my first semester of college at Texas Tech in 1977...i am a Red Raider fan UNLESS Tech is playing OU that is :-)

i didnt ask NightOwls.. where in Texas do you live ? did you go to UT ?

I live just North of Austin (about 60 miles).  I live outside of Fort Hood (Don't know if you know where that is).  Retired Army and moved back to Texas as soon as I could.  Graduated from the (now) University of North Texas in Denton.  Visited UT but much too large for an ole country boy.  Have been a Longhorn fan all my life, or at least as long as I can remember.

I have a lot of family that live in OK and they are die hard UT at Norman fans. :lol::lol:  The reason why we have so many players leave the state to play college ball is because OU pays more. :lol:  A&M has a huge following in the Army because of the Cadet corps and I always had a party at the house during UT/A&M weekend.  Makes for an interesting weekend.

I wonder when the Big 12 is going to figure out that the N vs S split

know the area, spent alot of time down that general area wayyy back in '75.  combined/harvested milo at Taylor Tx about 28 miles NE of Austin if i remember correctly...made it into Austin more than a few times wayyy back then too...truly a nice city.

AFU tony is in the Lawton (Ft.Sill) area.  i lived in Lawton most of my life and used to be on the P.D. there back in early-to-mid 80s...am sure if you weren't stationed at Ft.Sill that probably there at some point though LOL

NorthTexas at Denton really a nice sized smaller University, clearly understand why you would go there, not to mention had that ALL WOMAN (at the time) college right across down you ol' dawg B-)

Texas-Texas A&M game still a good game to watch even for non-texas-non-a&m fans...i think one of the things i truly miss about the old Big 8 before the 4 teams from southwest conf. merged... was OU had two big games every year... Texas in the Red River Rivalry AND THEN OU-Nebraska every Thanksgiving weekend which back then was usually to see who won the Big 8 and going to the Orange Bowl !!! but unfortunately with the formation of Big12 and split into North-South divisions...that broke up the OU-Nebraska annual game and 10 years later OU-Nebraska just isn't the same !!!

I spent a LITTLE time at FT Sill in '71, '85, and '88, being an old Artillery guy (25 years).   Know the area well (Blockhouse Signal Mountain).  Haven't been back, except for the occasional 2-3 day trips the Army sent me on, since '88.  Nice area to be FROM. :lol::lol:

i thought i might be the "old fart" in this league...but if you were 'stationed at Ft.Sill in 71"... well.... you got me beat   we actually moved to Lawton in 1971 & i was 14 then. (am 49 now).  who knows, we might have crossed paths in 85 when you were stationed there.. i was on Lawton PD then working the "strip" right outside of Gate 1 (North Ft.Sill Blvd.) where all the strip clubs were at on midnight shift.. nahhhhh am sure you never frequented any of the establishments in that part of Lawton no more than ol Tony AllFaulkedUp did either ...:lol::lol:  in 88 i moved back to West Texas for a couple of years, lived out NW of Hereford about 30 miles where my brother farmed at the time, was 'between marriages' ;-)  worked for him and spent quite a bit of time in Amarillo that semi-drunken year before moving back to Lawton in 90. went to Cameron U in 90-92 at Lawton finishing undergrad then went to OU to law school and lived in Norman from 92-95 (last 3 years of Gary Gibbs tenure as HC at OU before they got real stupid and hired schnellenberger for 1 year before running his sorry A$$ off, then 3 down years with John Blake before they hired Bob Stoops)

yep, you got one thing right though about Lawton...its a great place to be FROM  !!! dont' have any relatives there any more.  we moved my parents (my dad turned 91 late September & mom is early 70s) to Norman 2 years ago.  i haven't been back to Lawton i guess since that move.  live in Ponca City now which is North Central OKLA.  190 miles north of Lawton in Kay County, the last County in Northern Oklahoma on I-35 before going into Kansas. so the trip for us last weekend to Dallas was about 320 miles.

You could have been the one that threw my butt in jail (just kidding).  Gate 1 was a great time when I was younger (53 now), but from what I understand they still have the same strippers.

I personnally thought that schnellenberger and John Blake were GREAT OU coaches. :lol::lol:

This Tony guy can't be too bright if he is living in Lawton.:-D

A friends daughter lives in Ponca City and I have driven through it a couple of times.  What God forsaken country.  Where are all the trees?

:lol::lol:  yep, am sure you liked schnelly & blake about the same way we wanted the NCAA to give a 'lifetime exemption' to Chris Simms to stay at UT and be the Horns qb forever :lol::lol:

Western Okla is almost like West texas... just a greener version with more trees here than there.  now Ponca City though is on the break between western (flat) and eastern (rolling hills) of Oklahoma.  from the west coming in it looks like a green west texas, but going east it looks more like eastern parts of texas too.

Tony is a Lawton Fixture actually, rather successful local businessman (read that as a RICH boy) in the Lawton area ;-) matter of fact, go back and look at that July 8th post of Tony's and click on the link he put in it.. built a new house with his own personal BOWLING ALLEY !!! phenomonal link take a look at that richman's estate he is building, just makes me proud to say i knew him when :lol::lol:... now us poor attorneys just can't afford THAT kind of luxury ;-)

you'll have to send me an email or private post on who your friend's daughter is up here.. hopefully i don't know her since i came up here in DAs office prosecuting people and now primarily do criminal defense   but actually do alot of other civil litigation too, primarily criminal defense and plaintiff's personal injury.

also on other note, since you are retired army...my 22 year old son is in Ft. Benning and now in about week 3 of basic training.  and considering that my ex remarried when he was 4 and raised him primarily in Plano and then Decatur Texas... he always stayed a die-hard OU Sooners fan which makes dear ol' dad prOUd too :-D  did finally win the custody battle when he was 13 and he lived up here for 4 years before going back to Decatur to finish highschool and worked down there for 3 years.. he moved back here last year, met a girl here in ponca city that is from the wichita kansas area, got married this summer, joined the army and is in basic training now... only complaint i have with him is that they are going to make me a GRANDPA come next March... same month i will turn 50... damnit...guess i am getting OLD

and against Iowa State, A.D. was monster, 26 carries, 183 yds, 2 TDs, 3 recpts 45 yds... and a BROKEN COLLARBONE on his final carry of the day, a 53yd TD run capped by a dive into the endzone that BROKE HIS COLLARBONE !!!

and AD is OUt for the rest of the season !!!

this year just got FUGLY !!!

first was idiot Bomar getting kicked off the team leaving us without starting qb
second it was refs/review officials ROBBING OU of the win at oregon and getting replay official & ref crew suspended by PAC 10 as they admitted the refs wrongdoing...
NOW the final blow... AD out for the season with the broken collarbone... certainly eliminates AD from Heisman contention now

with 9 sophomores starting on offense... looking like its "plan/play for next year" now

not sure what else could go wrong now this year :-(

Yes but at the end of the day it was UT 22-20.  The Huskers played a great game and UT was down.  But the good teams overcome those down games and find a way to WIN.

Hook em Horns.

yep a W is a W is a W and thats all that matters when day is finished.  the hallmark of a good team is that can play badly for 3qtrs and yet still pull out the W at the end of the day !!!

surprised that UT didn't climb higher in BCS this week too.  very very possible that the champ game is UT vs Big 10 winner either OSU or Mich.
