| Here is the Individual Defensive Players proposal. Thanks to Devin for his work in putting this together. If approved, the following chages would occur: -Increase roster sizes from 15 to 18 -The 2007 draft will add 3 rounds (returning to 6 rounds thereafter) -Protections following the 2007 season will be 9 players of any positions and 3 IDPs -IDP scoring is 1 point for a forced fumble, every 5 tackles (assisted tackles count half), and for a half sack, 2 points for a sack or a safety; 3 points for a fumble recovery or interception -All players score 6 points for a return touchdown of any kind (punt, kick, int, fumble) -Lineups are as currently, with three additional spots for IDPs (the three can be of any def positions) Our first vote is simply: shall we adopt this system or not? Voting will start next week. | |

| We do need to address players who score points on both sides of the ball... if only to clarify it in the rules: 1) If an offensive player records comes in on defense (or becomes a defensive player because of a change of possession),do they get the tackle/fumble/int points that the defensive players would normally receive? 2) If a defensive player comes in for an offensive play (such as a William Perry or Deion Sanders type of situation), do the IDP players get offensive points as well? I'm not making a suggestion one way or another, but whatever is decided should be spelled out in the rules. |

| Typically in such IDP systems, a player gets his points regardless of what postion he is listed at/playing at. So a RB who scores on a special teams or defensive play or a defensive player who gets in as a WR and scores would both get points even though they are playing at positions different from thier roster listed ones. |

| That's how I'd implement it, too, Devin -- a player gets the points no matter which position he's playing. |
