Astroglide Ninjas Date Mon Jan 1 11:53:09 a.m. ET 2007
OK, everyone who intends on attending post here and indicate what dates are good and bad for you.  We usually take off Thurs and Fri to make it a four day weekend to allow time for travel.

My schedule is open as of now.
Unbreakable Spoon Date Mon Jan 1 11:59:05 a.m. ET 2007
I'll throw out a weekend to start the discussion. April 12-13-14-15. This is the weekend after Easter. That sunday is also holocaust remembrance day so we can pay homage to Price's threepeat preseason titles. Those cabins last year were sweet.

http://georgiagolf.com/georgia/golf/default.aspx

The big question.....drumroll.....will the Commish show?
Fighting Cadavers Date Mon Jan 1 6:05:05 p.m. ET 2007
Yes, I will show.  I like the cabin idea but am not opposed to anything as long as it's cheap.  The last week-end in April is bad for me but anything else is fine.
G-FUNK Returns Date Mon Jan 1 8:54:01 p.m. ET 2007
I'm good for any weekend other than March 17th, or April 8th.

And I plan on bringing everyone who attends the Winter Meetings a gift.  The link below explains further:

Academic All Americans Date Tue Jan 2 11:11:08 a.m. ET 2007
I am most likely out for the winter meetings. I would love to do it, but the baby is due 4/15. and I am already pushing it with a trip to Fenway in May.
Shawdads Date Wed Jan 3 11:18:54 a.m. ET 2007
I am going to try to make it. March is worse for me than April. I would like to stay away from the courses @ hard labor (i picture us all (or at least myself) ending up in a chain gang pounding rocks)

also congrats to steve. i figured i would be different and put mine here.

On a side note, I just heard that the STD capital of the US is Columbus, Georgia.

I intend on going this time.  I need some new STD's.  My body has already developed immunities to the ones I have already.

Yes Bobby, that thing on my lip is getting better.

Yes, but is the thing on Bobby's prick getting better?

Little Ocmulgee looks pretty good and it's only $98 a night for a two bedroom cottage.  The pictures on the website look comparable to the place we stayed last year.
Fighting Cadavers Date Thu Jan 4 12:24:26 p.m. ET 2007
Sounds good to me on the location.

We need to finalize the date ASAP as I need to sign up to work some sunday's in March/April soon.  Also, I work the Saturday of April 13 so that would be a bad week-end for me.

How about the following week-end, April 19-22?
Astroglide Ninjas Date Thu Jan 4 12:44:27 p.m. ET 2007
That's fine with me.  That weekend (April 19-22) looks available per their website while some others were not.  We need to get a handle on how many are going because we will need 2 cottages if there are more than 5-6 of us attending.  Please post if that weekend is good for everybody and we can get it reserved good and early.

That weekend works for me, and the park/golf course looks identical to last year (which is both good and bad).  I'm fine with this, but thought I'd throw another suggestion out.  It's a longer drive from Jax, but we could always rent a cabin in North Georgia.  I've rented one a couple of times before, and the cabins are sweet.  The price would be about $150 per night, but they usually sleep more.  We would have to find a local golf course to play, and it wouldn't be as close as the golf course at the state park.  But the cabins always come with a hot tub, pool table, big-screen tv, so there'd be more stuff to do at the cabin itself.  I just did a quick search and came up with the link below, but there are tons to choose from, and I can't stress how much nicer these cabins are than your regular state-park cabin.  Again, I'm just throwing this out as a suggestion.

If you change Price's place to a 4 bedroom cabin, it's only $160 a night.  Those are pretty sweet.

That place looks pretty sweet to me.
G-FUNK Returns Date Thu Jan 4 3:36:58 p.m. ET 2007
Well, again the downside is that it's a longer drive for you guys, and we'd need to find a serviceable golf course nearby.  That's up in Spoon's neck of the woods, so maybe he knows more.  I can vouch that the places are really nice, and it's never a bad thing to have a pool table and hot tub.

I've only been during the Summer, but we always go whitewater rafting one day and inner-tubing another.  It may be too cold in April though.  I'm not sure of the seasonality of white-water rafting because the water is freezing cold year-round.  Spoon?

I'm not militant about doing this over a state park, but I know Steve had mentioned making this year's trip a little less golf-centered, so I thought this might be better.  Here's a couple more links to browse:

It will definately be too cold for water sports but having a pool table around would be outstanding.  I can't imagine there isn't a golf course within a reasonable distance.  We should also scout for bowling alleys. . .
Astroglide Ninjas Date Thu Jan 4 4:24:03 p.m. ET 2007
I, for one, have no problem with the drive if the place is that sweet.

Hell, we could go that place steve and i went to in north carolina.  that place was the bomb.
Unbreakable Spoon Date Thu Jan 4 5:33:17 p.m. ET 2007
That weekend is fine, and y'all coming up this way is fine, too. Plus it might bring in non-golfers like Jim if we have pool tables, wide-screen, etc. Blue Ridge is a small town an hour and a half from Atlanta with a lake nearby, nice views, easy to get to, shopping for beer, golf, and several other small towns nearby for things we might not find there. Bowling? Not sure, but that's just a yellow pages online lookup. Weather can be iffy. It could be 70 or it could be 40. So its whether or not you want to take that chance. I think if we have other things to do, then the golf tourney might need to be whittled down to 2 rounds of 18 or something...but maybe not. There are 24 hours in a day. Drive times to that area would be 6-7 hours from Jax, 4 from Birmingham, and 8 from Ohio. Post some questions and I'll dig for answers if everyone is serious about this.

Looks like a great spot for a mini mall.  Steve, can you help us secure financing?  Let's level that shit.  We can only hope there are some indigenous people living there just begging for displacement and a photo op in National Geographic.  If we're really lucky, an "endangered" bird, rat or chipmunk we can kick to the curb too.  The loss of a bowling alley is regrettable, but we can always build a bigger one.

This all sounds very promising.  Everyone check your calendars for that date and let's get this thing booked.  We can do one 4 bedroom cabin if we have 5 or if we have 10.  It would just be cheaper per person if more go.  How does this sound to everybody?

I'm in.  On a side note, I was thinking about "chodes" and the chodelike folk of this world (Sorry Ohio State).  Yes Steve, chodes, chodes and more chodes.  Here's the thing.  I no longer like the term "chode", I prefer, "hump", which I believe is a derogatory term used for gentlemen who habitually attend strip clubs.  I guess the two aren't really synonomous, but I just prefer referring to random people as humps instead of chodes.  Examples, "Look at that hump," or simply, "Hump."

We're still waiting to hear from Bobby, Jim, Nate, and Rush.  I think one 4 bedroom cabin will be sufficient regardless how many attend.  Price, can you go ahead and get us booked?  This one looks big: "Lazy Bear Lodge", it's only $160 a night and appears to be available on our weekend.

I was out of town, so glad to see this happening. Mountain golf is fun; there's moonshine in the coolers on the course instead of water, the bunkers are called 'hollows', a good drive long and in the fairway is "Look at dat dang thang git out dere in the short meadow", and if you hit it in the woods take a shotgun with you so that the fight is even.
G-FUNK Returns Date Thu Jan 11 10:28:37 p.m. ET 2007 Edited Thu Jan 11 10:34:39 p.m. ET 2007
The reservation has been made.  They are supposed to call me in the next couple of days to confirm.

In addition to the pool table, hot tub, and foosball table, there's a kitchen table that will suit our needs for poker playing.  The cabin comes with a PS2, but there are multiple TV's so we need multiple gaming systems.  I think Madden tournaments and Tiger Woods golf would be the logical choice while we wait on next up to play Guitar Hero 2.

As for the traditional golf tournament, I think 3 rounds would be about right.  We can play one round per day on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.  Billy Baroo is back up for grabs.  There seems to be enough of us coming that the non-golfers can skip the golf altogether, and not be left by themselves.  I'd be OK if some people wanted to participate in the tourney, but only play 2 of the 3 rounds, with their lowest score counting twice.  I think in order to win the Billy Baroo, you should have to play on Sunday...thoughts?

Hooka + Hot Tub = Good

So 3 people haven't voted, but right now we have 8 (2 foursomes for golf). If we can get a list we can break out teams....Commish? I like Price's game/poker itenerary.

Yes,  I too approve of the Price Itinerary.

Here's the List as I have it:

Price
Sutton
Spoon
Rush
Chache
Renshaw
Getsy
Commish

I am assuming nobody else is coming unless told otherwise.
