If we keep VP, there is no sense in having divisions since teams with lower VP could still end up in playoffs with divisions. I propose each team play head-to-head against every other team in their conference. For the remaining two games, all teams would be seeded based on their total VP at the end of 11 weeks (i.e. after the head-to-head games versus all other teams) and the games would be scheduled as follows:

Week 12
-------

1 vs 2
3 vs 4
5 vs 6
7 vs 8
9 vs 10
11 vs 12

Week 13
-------

1 vs 3
2 vs 4
5 vs 7
6 vs 8
9 vs 11
10 vs 12

The "good" teams have to prove they are good (and not just lucky) by beating other "good" teams the last two weeks of the regular season. Flexible scheduling comes to SFFL!!

Another alternative would have only one week of flexible  scheduling (in week 12). Then for week 13, the top 2 seeds would have byes while the next 4 seeds played wildcard weekend. Playoffs could continue as they do now in week 14 or some other system could be implemented based on seeding. This option obviously has the added benefit of 2 additional playoff teams.

Any opinions on this?

It doesn't blow as much as your decision to play LT in week 17 instead of the playoffs!    :-P
