[take two]
He was nearly 100 points ahead of the second highest scoring team this season... he had the best All-Play record, and his power ranking of 37.85 was one of the highest totals I've ever seen (even though I'm still not sure how they come up with it). He also had the highest weekly maximum points for (101), and had the best win-loss record in the league. To top it all off, he defeated the two-time defending LVFL champs three times this season, including 94-32 in the championship game week 17.
Jeremy, take a bow -- your #1 Stunna is the undisputed #1 team in the league.
Week 17 also featured Stunna Stephen Jackson, henceforce known as SJ, and his breakout game (32 pts) to accentuate his breakout season, elevating him to initial status along side LT and LJ. TO (11) and the BR defense (13) also contributed to the title game victory.
While Jeremy had five players in double digits in the title game, Dan couldn't muster any from his Naughtmen. Frank Gore (8) and Marvin Harrison (9) had been the players who got the team to this point, but the rest of the team couldn't provide any support this week.
In the third place game, LJ (25) showed up, but LT (3), didn't, meaning the BananaSlugs cruised to victory here, 56-44. The pair of Not Undead Yet teams had been posturing all season as possible title contenders, and they finished second and third in season points and All-Play record, and in the top four in most categories, so it was only fitting that they do battle in the Winners' Bracket in week 17.
In the Losers' Bracket, Bob ended his fantasy career with a win, taking the 5th place game from Team Ennui 60-54. Peyton Manning (19) made a rare week 17 appearance, and Steve Smith (17) provided the oomph for KS3, while Willie Parker (18) couldn't get much support, despite the hot Bronco rookie QB-TE combo of Cutler (7) to Scheffler (8).
The Tinies handed the Sick duchess his third straight playoff loss, 91-41, thanks in large part to Tiki Barber's farewell performance of 30 points. Tony Romo (13) and Roy Williams (17) also had standout performances in their breakout seasons. Though every one of Andy's players showed up and scored, none of them got into double digits.
Troy won the best of three Toilet Bowl over Bill's Corridors, taking the final game 57-47 behind Corey Dillon (17) and Lee Evans (13). Bill, however, earned his own set of bragging rights by winning the NFL picks pool, finishing 23 points ahead of the Ennui, 1375-1352. Dan finished third with 1315, while Jeremy and Andy were embroiled in a fierce battle for fourth place, with Andy able to maintain his two point margin for the final eight weeks of the season.
Thanks for a successful season in the LVFL, and a fairly seemless transition to the website. Make sure you check in on the website this offseason -- I'm sure boredom will overcome me at some point and I'll be posting articles and polls, and I encourage you to do the same!
