(RotoWire) Arizona head coach Ken Whisenhunt believes that the Cardinals' NFL-worst running game -- which is anchored by a time-share between Wells and Tim Hightower -- is improving, the Arizona Republic reports.

Analysis: Whisenhunt thought that the Cardinals ran well at times last week, but a sizable deficit forced them to pass on 46 of 63 downs. Game situations have had a big impact on the Cardinals' play selection this year. They are averaging 23.0 rushes per game in their four wins and only 15.3 in their three losses. Overall, the Cardinals are running the ball 42 percent of the time this season. Since Wells and Hightower are splitting carries roughly 50/50, that's not providing either player with a heavy workload. Hightower is in a better position since he has 39 receptions (Wells has four) and he is a better goal-line runner (he has five touchdowns to Wells' one).
