Welcome to another season of the award winning Soothsayer. The Soothsayer will again be focusing on the DOMMINANT conference, which of course is the Lager Conference. It's great to have all the owners back again for another year of abuse. A big thanks goes out to The Commish and the Mrs. for hosting draft night for the Lager Conference. Also, a big thanks to the owners that did make it to draft night. It's always a good time and it gives yours truly a chance to call a few owners a dickhead to their face. Welcome back to the area Simple Simon GM Simon Mijolovic. It was good to see you at the draft. Lager Conference Player of the Week Will be coming again this year. Keep flying THOSE FLAGS HIGH! Lager Conference GM Screwup of the Week Which GM made the biggest mistake that cost his team victory. Stay tuned and you'll find out each week who deserves this dubious honor! Who would think that for Pre-week 1 that there could be more than one GM in the running. Well, it can happen and it did. Ready 2 Rumble GM Laurie Maginn traded her second round draft pick for a KICKER that she kept as one of her six keepers. A kicker... a kicker... Someone slap me and tell me that it didn't happen. OUCH! I didn't mean her! It must be that female thing. I thought this was the clear winner. But nooooo. This honor goes to Sherrill Ballbusters GM Mike Klaubo. He had so many draft selections that he lost track of how many players he had and didn't draft a coach. At this point he decided that he had free regein to survey his roster and cut whichever smuck he drafted regardless of which round the player was selected in. Wide right. Good try. Maybe he should consult one of the three QBs that he kept. This Weeks Predictions Herkimer Hurlers at Pete's Wicked Aliens Rematch of last year's opening game. Hurlers kept Ahman and.. well, let's just say they kept Ahman. The Aliens traded for Alexander and signed Harrison with his number one pick. Aliens have reloaded. Hurlers appear average at best. Aliens. by 23 Simple Simon at Fighting Chows Simple Simon GM is back. His team though, is another story. Chows are going to try to run rough shod over a new division. Well, we'll just see. Chow's too much, even if Simon Says "Lose." Chows by 31 Power Pack at Crash Inc. Pack is trying to put the Power back. Crash Inc., afer making a "questionable" keeper day trade, will go as far as Tomlinson can carry them Crash to much on this day. Crash Inc. by 11 Tailgators at Ready 2 Rumble Tailgators are the Champs. That's now old news. Can they repeat? R2R has made some changes (and added some more Patriots). The Champs might be riding last years wave... Ready 2 Rumble by 9 Schultz Zindulees at Sherrill Ballbuster What will the Zindulees do without Moss? What will the Ballbusters do with two Mannings? Less is more. Zindulees don't look back this day. Zindulees by 29 Skin Cancers at Big Blue Wrecking Crew Ahh, what could be finer that two teams playing each other that didn't show up at the draft. Each one with a new stud. Two new studs. One dud. BBWC is the team today. BBWC by 6 |
