| Hey guys-- Even though it's only March, it's never too early to start thinking about the upcoming Fantasy Football season! The reason is because here at GLFFL, we pride ourselves in being one of the only on-line fantasy football organizations that strives to eliminate the concept of the off-season. Our motto is there for a reason-- Everyday. Year Round. Fantasy Football is all we want to do. How 'bout you? We have a few changes in store for the 2006 season, all geared toward making your fantasy football experience the best it can be. **The addition of a League History Application on all GLFFL League Pages (http://mflhistory.com/leaguehistory.php?id=71) **Modification of the Waiver Wire System-- Starting this year, all GLFFL Leagues will conduct the FIRST round of transactions on Wednesday night at 11 p.m. ET. This will eliminate the switches throughout the year when Thursday games come into play. The difference in the system is this-- the NEXT two rounds of weekly transactions will take place on SATURDAY at 1 p.m. EST with free agents again being awarded to teams on a worst-to-first basis (record, total points, power ranking). Also, players dropped on WEDNESDAY night ARE eligible to be added during the second transaction processing event on SATURDAY afternoon. This system will give you the opportunity to add and drop up to FOUR players each week, using TWO different waiver priority dates each week. **The re-stocking draft will take place on April 15th, meaning you have until April 1st to make the necessary drops on your team to get down to your maximum of FOUR players. The re-stocking draft will consist of 16 rounds. Teams may keep a total of four (4) players from year to year, without restriction to specific positions. However, the four (4) players must come from the following portions of the initial draft - one (1) player drafted in rounds 1 through 5; one (1) player drafted in rounds 6 through 10; one (1) player drafted in rounds 11 through 15; and one (1) player drafted in rounds 16 through 20 or any of the four off-season free agent transaction rounds. Click here for that complete draft -- http://www.glffl.net/kapp_draft05.htm Click here for the complete rookie draft -- http://www.glffl.net/kapp_rookie_draft05.htm UNDRAFTED free agents acquired during the regular season are NOT ELIGIBLE to be protected for the following season. Also, protected players may be carried over for ONE SEASON. After the completion of the following season, all protected players will become free agents and will be available to all teams at the subsequent year's draft. Click here for details-- note: all players listed as FA in the draft round were protected players in '05 and must be thrown back into the mix for '06 -- http://www.glffl.net/kapp_keepers05.htm Teams are not required to protect four (4) players each year - one (1) to four (4) players may be carried over, provided they come from the appropriate draft rounds. Teams that do not keep four (4) players will make up the roster deficiency with selections in the four off-season rookie rounds which in all years following year one will be the players you get to choose from for the Round 16-20 category. For example, you keep four players from the four rounds, draft 16 new you will have your 20 man roster. If you want to add anyone in the off-season rookie rounds, you'll have to drop to do so. If you keep less than four, you still have the four off-season rounds to make up the difference without needing to drop. Players that were part of the initial draft (in the link above) that were dropped and then reacquired ARE eligible to be protected. Players that were undrafted and acquired ARE NOT. **The off-season Rookie Draft will then take place on May 15th and be followed up with three more draft rounds before the start of the regular season (June 15, July 15 and August 31). The teams with the worst regular season records the previous season will have the first opportunity to select rookies and free agents in May. Without looking at trades that have been made affecting draft picks, here is the current order for this league for both the re-stocking draft (which is serpentine) and the rookie draft in May: 1. FastFish Daytona 2. Chiefmasters 3. Dirty Duffers 4. D Kappitator 5. Wiggles 6. BrownsROCK Kapp 7. Jackets Rock 8. Smurfalicious 9. Zero Tolerance 10. MuttCutts 11. Ben Alan Setters 12. Ravenous Kosar KATs 13. Wiggles-- Consolation Champ We are also in the process of updating all of our payment records. When you are marked as paid for 2006, an asterick ( * ) will be placed next to your team name and you will be eligible to make trades with other teams in the league. If you are not marked with an asterick and you have paid for 2006, please let us know ASAP so we can get the records verified. Also don't forget the incentive to find new blood for the GLFFL-- a $10 credit will be given to any owner that recruits a replacement for this league, IF the replacement does not own any other team throughout the GLFFL! | Just an FYI-- we'll have to probably push the restocking draft back a bit from the scheduled date of April 15th because the MFL software guys say we won't be able to conduct a new draft without screwing up historical league data if we do it before they upgrade the software, set to happen right around the time of the NFL draft. Thanks! Kirk |
