Here's the latest in the soap opera that is the GLFFL Champions League...

We have cut down to 14 teams.

Each of the teams will play one another once during the 13-week regular season.

Top 8 teams qualify for the post-season, starting in Week 14.

Same money payouts, same Affordable Trophies prize.

Auction starts tomorrow, 12 noon ET-- everyone should throw out TWO players with an opening bid at that time.

Here are the rest of the rules-- READ CAREFULLY!!!

12 noon ET on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005 -- each owner needs to get things rolling by throwing out TWO PLAYERS with an opening bid that can be as low as ONE unit. Everyone has 160 units to spend on 16 players. As soon as you throw out your TWO PLAYERS, the 15-hour clock will start on each of them.

If you don't know how to throw out players for bid, here's what you do...

Leave the button for "Auction Bid" on, click on the button for your team name to the right. Then select a player from the list and the amount you want to initially bid for him.

Once you throw out your TWO bids (meaning 28 players will be on the board), you are more than welcome to raise bids of the guys that are already there. Just remember not to overextend yourself. You have to have enough money left to purchase an entire roster of 16 players. You are required to come out of the auction with a roster that could field a starting lineup, meaning you have to have 1 QB, 1-2 RB, 3-4 WR, 1 TE, 1 PK and 1 DF.

Here are the particulars for auction veterans and rookies alike...

1. Once you have submitted your TWO players, the 15-hour clock will start. What that means is that you get the player if your bid is the highest for a period of 15 hours. You need to keep checking the site to see what your status is, how much money you have, how much time is on the clock, etc.

2. All owners need to start the auction by throwing out TWO players for bid. This will mean that as we start, there will be a maximum of 28 players being bid on. You can't throw out a bid on a new player until you have landed one by winning him in the auction.

3. Once the draft is complete, the cap will be removed. For instance: You have $160 to spend on your roster of 16 players. In the 3rd week of the season, you want to make a trade involving giving up L. Suggs and his $20 salary for J. Smith and his $30 salary. That is acceptable, even though you would then be $10 over the cap if we were still paying attention to the cap figures.

4. You need to budget 160 units to spend on 16 roster spots. You MUST come out of the auction with 16 players so you have to make sure you have enough left to spend. For example, if you have six spots left to fill, you have to have a minimum of SIX units remaining (1 unit for each player).

5. During the initial roster stocking process, if a trade is made DURING the auction ...the CAP number does NOT travel with the player. Example: you buy Priest Holmes for $30 and trade him for Ahman Green who was bought at $25.....you still have the $30 CAP hit.....and the owner of Ahman Green still has the $25 CAP hit. The system won't allow for the swapping of auction units once we get it started. This prevents owners from creating more CAP room at the end of the auction and means what you spend is what you live with throughout the entire auction.

6. During the regular season, as there is no CAP, FA pick ups off the waiver wire (on a worst to first basis) are only limited by the 16 man roster limit.

7. Owners must take the utmost care to ensure mistakes are not made during the auction format. Owners must also be sure they are raising a bid on the player they actually want as bidding mistakes cannot be reversed.

I think that about covers it. Let me know if there are any other questions.

Thanks again guys! This ought to be a terrific league!

That is correct-- forgot to include that one...

No player added in the current auction can be dropped while the auction is ongoing.

Thanks and good luck!
