| Another championship for Renegades, great work. I'm still in the rebuilding mode. Here's what I think of my team: I'm happy with my core of Brady, Tiki, JJ, and Javon Walker. I probably won't trade them unless another stud is involved. Never say never. And after struggling all 2004 with crappy kickers I'm happy with Reed, if you care. My biggest weakness is at wr: I have no legit wr2 and Walker is risky as a wr1 until he's had another year to recover, so my main goal this off-season is to upgrade my wrs. Secondarily, I'm tired of guessing wrong on the defense of the week. I might pay for a solid defense (call me crazy). And I'd trade for a top TE. What's available: I have a few young rbs, none are clear studs but all have potential: Parker, Gore, and Gado. Jacobs and MBarber are also in that category but probably won't get moved unless TIKI or JJ do. Barlow's value is so low I'm probably better off keeping him. Coles or McCareins: I'd package with something to get an upgrade on these guys. I like them both as wr3s but don't want to carry two Jet wideouts so I'll deal one. Moulds: I think is still valuable as a wr3; he's available but I probably rate him higher than most so he likely will stay on my roster. Young wrs: Vincent Jackson, Terrence Murphy, Courtney Roby. I like them in that order. I'd be happy keeping them to see how they develop but probably won't have room for all three on my roster when all is said and done. McMichael: a decent starter who's better than what I had most of the year but I'd package him to move up a notch at TE. Cowboys: I picked them up because they have some good young talent and could be very good if Parcells stays. But if you have a better D, I'll throw them in with something else from this list to make a deal. Draft picks: 7 of the top 25; 10 overall. I think this will be a banner year for the draft as agents tell underclassman to come out for the draft before the NFL wises up and signs a new contract with a rookie cap. Won't surprise me if Vince Young, LenDale White, and others go for the big payday. That makes those late 1st rd picks more valuable in 2006 than in 2005 or 2007. I probably will keep the 1.03 and get a future stud rb (Deangelo Williams or Maroney, assuming Bush goes at #1) unless I'm offered a stud wr for it. The other picks I'd package with one of the above players or to move up in the 1st round. I'd also consider trading a pick this year for a 2007 pick. I expect that will be more attractive as the draft nears and we know who's available. I obviously have to deal something, my roster isn't big enough for 21 players plus 10 picks so make an offer where I give two or more players or picks for one of yours. |
