| My projections for the top five picks in this years draft....everyone else chime in on yours!! 1- Texans and Titans swap picks with additional compensation going Texans way. They do this because they dont wnat anyone trading into the two hole to snatch Leinhart. Titans then select Matt Lienhart and reunite him with Chow. 2. Saints...A.J. Hawk. Best player in the draft. Saints dont need a qb, rb or de, so this is a great pick. 3. Texans...Mario Williams..difference maker, best athlete in the draft. Texans dont need a rb. 4. Jets...Reggie Bush. Jets already have Ramsey, Pennington so they will wait until second round or will trade this pick. 5. Packers...Packers trade with Broncos getting Lelie, 15 and 22 for this pick and Walker. Might include additional picks or players. Broncos select Vernon Davis. Well, thats it, anyone else?

| Oooh Boy! Wild speculation time! My turn! (hold on a sec, have to let the peyote take hold): 1. Texans take Bush, having failed at their attempts to generate an outrageous trade offer despite the anti-Bush smoke screen they're currently throwing up. If their QB situation didn't include Carr, their current tactic would probably work. But since no one actually believes they'll take a QB, and Bush alone doesn't generate the kind of Ditka like offer they want, the Texans stand pat and make the only predictable pick of the top five.. 2. Saints deal out to the Vikings who give up the 17, a 2nd and two 3rds to move up and take Young. Childress wets himself with glee, then rips Culpepper in the press conference that follows. Why this move? Because the Vikings are OBSESSED with the Packers, and seem to have not noticed that the Packers suck at this point. Want proof? Minnesota's premier FA signing last year was Darren Sharper. This offseason, the Vikes started by signing Childress after interviewing exactly one coaching candidate and without hiring a GM, despite Zygi Wilf's stated preference for a GM/HC top down structure. Childress was set to interview in GB next and has since said he thought it was very likely he never would have left GB. The Vikes never let him leave Minneapolis, and checked him into a hotel under a false name to hide him from the Packers, who were waiting for him to fly in for an interview. Once Childress was hired, the Vikes brought virtually every Packer FA in for a visit (Kampman, Davenport, Fisher) before signing Longwell. The Vikes, facing a complete season with noodle-armed and injury-prone Brad Johnson as a starter, and believing that GB has to take a QB with only Rodgers in camp and Favre about to retire, and knowing that the 3rd and 4th pick will be unavailable for trade, pull the trigger on the deal and take the QB they like ahead of GB. 3. Titans, bitter over missing out on their choice of the QB crop, take Leinart, and then claim that Young has a mysterious shoulder goiter they discovered in a private workout and that Leinart was the guy they wanted all along. Fisher says he heard that Young has an extra toe on his right foot he calles Steve, and that Young claimed in an interview that it was "Steve" that did so bad on the first Wonderlic test. 4. The Jets, even more bitter than the Titans, console themselves with Mario Williams, the best defensive player in the draft. 5. The Packers, torn between three need picks (Ferguson, Davis and Hawk) deal out to Oakland adding a 3rd and a 5th round pick. Oakland takes Davis. 6. (Bonus prediction!  The Niners take Hawk. (yawn).7. (Bonus predictin! The Packers fail to generate trade interest for Ferguson and take Cutler. Thompson spends most of his press conference explaining that he would love for "what's his face" to come back for another year, while secretly changing the Packers front office to an unlisted number.
