| Let me know what you guys think about a combination of Jason's proposal, and a new idea to help accelerate the cap for bargain players who turn into studs overnight... QB - (Average QB price of top 16 = $12.65) Top QB - 20% increase / Average of #2 through #5 after their increases, whichever is greater #2 - #5 QB - $3 / 15% increase, whichever is greater RB - (Average RB price of top 16 = $34.44) Top RB - 20% increase / Average of #2 through #5 after their increases, whichever is greater #2 - #5 RB - $8 / 15% increase, whichever is greater #6 - #10 RB - $5 / 10% increase, whichever is greater WR - (Average WR price of top 24 = $16.25) Top WR - 20% increase / Average of #2 through #5 after their increases, whichever is greater #2 - #5 WR - $5 / 15% increase, whichever is greater #6 - #10 RB - $3 / 10% increase, whichever is greater TE - (Average TE price of top 16 - $5.06) Top TE - 20% increase / Average of #2 through #5 after their increases, whichever is greater #2 - #5 TE - $2 / 15% increase, whichever is greater K & DEF - Top K & DEF - 20% increase / Average of #2 through #5 after their increases, whichever is greater #2 - #5 K & DEF - $2 / 15% increase, whichever is greater Then, we address the bargain basement players who turn into overnight studs (i.e. Larry Johnson) this way... Players earning between $1 and $10 that finish in the Top 5 in scoring the year they are playing for that contract will automatically receive a $25 raise for the following season. Thoughts?? I took out some of the extra figuring Jason had by going all the way out to Top 10's and Top 15's and I added in a specific language item like the Larry Johnson issue. Let me know what you think. | How about this for TEs like Antonio Gates... TEs earning between $1 and $5 that finish in the Top 5 in scoring the year they are playing for that contract will automatically receive a $10 raise for the following season. Thanks, Kirk |

| I would suggest just the top 2 TEs instead of top 5 TEs. We increase the top 5 for QB/RB/WR, but TE is such a low cost item anyway. Besides, the difference between the #1 TE and the #5 TE in scoring is very large. I think if a TE makes it into the top 2 then it's deserved, but top 5 seems just a bit much for the position. Just a thought. |
