(MyFantasyLeague.com Fantasy Times Sources - Dec 28, 2003) In a week 17 North Coast Fantasy Football League classic, Hoosier Daddy squeaked by a tough Midnight Vigilantes team by a score of 95.60 to 90.50, extending the winning streak for Hoosier Daddy to 5 games.
Hoosier Daddy were led to their 5.10 point victory by a 38.00 point effort from Ladainian Tomlinson, who tore apart the Raiders defense for 243 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in addition to 17 receiving yards. With this performance, Tomlinson was the number 1 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 17. In addition, Tomlinson entered the North Coast Fantasy Football League Hall Of Fame with this performance as the 16th-ranked individual weekly player score in league history. They also got help from a 18.70 point effort from Jamal Lewis, who beat the Steelers defense for 114 rushing yards and 1 rushing TD in addition to 13 receiving yards. "I'm really proud of the way our guys hung in there," Hoosier Daddy coach Dave Bell said. Midnight Vigilantes were helped out in a losing cause by a 34.70 point effort from Ahman Green, who tore apart the Broncos defense for 218 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs in addition to 9 receiving yards. With this performance, Green was the number 2 ranked overall fantasy scorer for week 17. "It's been a great ride," Midnight Vigilantes coach Kirk Pavelich said. Compounding the issue, Midnight Vigilantes could have scored 117.40 points and earned the win with their best lineup, but Kirk Pavelich left key players like Donovan McNabb and his corresponding 31.70 points on the bench. Midnight Vigilantes drew the short straw with their schedule this week, as their point total would have resulted in a win against 9 out of 11 other potential opponents in week 17. This brings the record for Hoosier Daddy to 12-4, and drops Midnight Vigilantes to a record of 0-1. | ||||
